Located on a spectacular spot in Eryri, in a secluded, elevated position with uninterrupted lake and mountain views, this homely bolthole with just sheep in the surrounding fields as neighbours offers couples a truly peaceful escape. This wonderfully scenic rural location in Llangower overlooks Llyn Tegid and the Arenig mountains, offering an ideal base for exploring Southern Eryri, a playground for walkers, hikers and nature lovers alike. Footpaths and cycle routes lead directly from the cottage into open countryside, valleys and woodland. Outdoor adventures, including sailing, paddleboarding, wild swimming and fishing, are available on Llyn Tegid, just 5 miles away, with closer lakeside access for paddleboarding, wild swimming and fishing at Llangower, only half a mile from the cottage. Additional lakes including Llyn Celyn and Llyn Brenig are both reached within 20 miles. Located on the fringes of Eryri National Park, Lake Vyrnwy, 15 miles away, is a haven for nature lovers, surrounded by moorland and woodland brimming with wildlife and an RSPB reserve. The Bala Lake Railway also runs seasonally between Llanuwchllyn and Bala town, offering a scenic heritage steam train journey, with Llangower lakeside station less than a mile from the cottage.

Beneath the rustic stone exterior, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner at the heart of this bolthole embraces the beauty of your surrounding scenery, featuring a wall of picture windows that capture panoramic views of the lake and mountains. The contemporary country cottage-style decor, exposed stonework and a roaring wood burner add charm and character, whilst soothing neutral hues perfectly complement the colours of your rugged, rolling scenery. Benefiting from a sleek and stylish contemporary finish, the bathroom on this level provides everything you need to wash off a long day on the local trails. Encompassing the first floor, you’ll find the idyllic double bedroom, which features a characterful sloping ceiling and a beautiful Velux window that frames outstanding views to wake up to. Please note that there is no Wi-Fi at the cottage, although good 5G mobile coverage is available in the area.

Make the most of your wonderful surroundings and soak up your fresh, countryside air by enjoying your morning coffee or a sundowner on the patio in the enclosed garden, which slopes towards the lake. Enjoy cooking up some local delights on the charcoal BBQ or roasting marshmallows over the fire pit as you stargaze in the clear, dark skies. On our first visit to the North, we really couldnt have chosen a better place to stay. The cottage has it all, and despite one of the prettiest views you could find, it says a lot for Tyddyn Llafar that we were as happy with the accommodation as we were gawping at Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid). The kitchen is very well appointed, the living area is comforRead moretable with a hefty wood burner and the bedroom was cosy with a very comfortable king size bed. We lit the fire pit on a number of evenings and soaked in the views (and wine!), which was very good for the soul. All being well, well be returning soon. Hide

The cottage was warm and comfortable with everything you needed for a quiet week away. It has the most amazing views over the lake and was so peaceful with just the bleating sounds of lambs and their mums ! Lovely walks from the cottage and we had great weather !
