Set in 2 acres of beautiful gardens with fantastic views towards the Quantock Hills, this impressive timber-framed house is a wonderful countryside escape for families or groups of friends. Start your stay with a nostalgic journey on the West Somerset Railway, with a station right on your doorstep. Steam trains chug their way through rolling hills to Minehead or Taunton, offering a wonderful way to soak up the scenery. There are walks directly from the house, winding through peaceful lanes, fields and woodlands. If you prefer exploring on horseback, the surrounding bridleways make this a great area for a day of riding. The edge of Exmoor National Park lies 5 miles away, where wild moorland, deep valleys and sweeping coastal views create endless possibilities for hiking, wildlife spotting and picnicking. A trip to the coast at Minehead (15 miles) is a change of scene, with its sandy beach, traditional seaside charm and access to the South West Coast Path.

Enter the welcoming hallway and discover a property designed for relaxation, celebration, and comfort. The country-style kitchen sits to your right, complete with a warming AGA that makes it a cosy hub for cooking and gathering. From here, walk through to the handy utility room, where a short flight of steps leads to a private bedroom with its own en-suite shower room – ideal for guests seeking a little extra privacy. Back in the hallway, you’ll find a dedicated office equipped with desks for guests who need to catch up on work during their stay. Continue through to the elegant dining room, where a large table sets the scene for memorable meals with family and friends. The hallway also leads to two inviting living areas: a snug with a wood burner and Smart TV; and a separate spacious lounge that boasts plush sofas, another Smart TV, and a second wood burner. From the lounge, head into the light-filled conservatory overlooking the landscaped garden and sparkling outdoor pool. Upstairs, discover five well-appointed bedrooms. These include two super-king-size rooms, two king-size rooms, and a twin, providing plenty of flexibility for families and groups. Two of the bedrooms benefit from en-suite shower rooms, while the stylish family bathroom features a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower.

Outside, the beautifully landscaped garden is designed for luxurious outdoor living. Take a dip in the heated swimming pool, (open from Easter weekend 3rd April 2026 to 2nd October 2026 only) unwind in the hot tub, or share al fresco feasts on the patio with the gas BBQ. Beautiful property in a stunning location. The swimming pool was fantastic and made our holiday - wed love to visit again sometime. Enjoyed the day out on the steam train nearby.

Fell in love with this property, one of our favourites out of more than 40 that we've visited as family get-togethers. Ages ranging from 11 to 85, nobody wanted to go home. So peaceful and restful with such spacious and fantastic gardens and the pool was a bonus which we all enjoyed despite the sudden downturn in the beautiful weather that we'd beeRead moren having previously. The house was delightful and accommodating, clean and comfortable and supplied everything that was required.A real gem. Hide

An absolutely fabulous house, perfect for hosting a family party for my birthday. We all loved the location, how well equipped, clean and comfortable it was. I'm so glad we chose it. I had the best time and didn't want to leave.

Cannot rate this property highly enough. Our family had a fantastic long weekend celebrating a special birthday, and we couldn't have asked for a better place. Have never booked such a well equipped property in all aspects. Everything has been thought of very carefully by the owners to make the stay as relaxed as possible. Even in mid April becausRead moree the garden is such a sun trap and sheltered from the wind the pool and hot tub got plenty of use. Fantastic well kept grounds with an abundance of wild life (recommend using the Merlin bird app to identify if you are not a twitcher!). As you may have guessed by now I cannot speak highly enough about this property. Hide

We had a wonderful week at Broad Oak House. The setting is so beautiful, deep in the countryside surrounded by farms, the Quantocks to one side and Exmoor the other. It is a ten minute walk to the West Somerset steam railway station at Crowcombe heathfield; we travelled this way to Minehead for a day out which was lots of fun and some of us enjoyedRead more a cold beer on the train home seeing as there was no driving to be done! The house itself is exceptional. We were a three generation group of grandparents, parents and children 8-14, and everyone agreed its the best holiday house weve ever stayed in (and theres been many over the last 15 years!). There are 4 reception rooms downstairs plus a lovely conservatory and the large kitchen so plenty of room for the generations to spread out, which made it so relaxing. The garden is large with an area mown to grass for playing on, plenty of trees and flowers too. Surrounded by tall trees and woodland it really is stunning and so quiet. My niece saw loads of different birds and my son several deer early in the morning in the woodland beyond the fence. The pool is a great bonus and even in early April we managed to use it thanks to a couple of days of warm sunny weather. The hot tub was also well used- separate towels were supplied for the pool and tub which was a bonus. All the rooms are a good size with quality bedding and the showers were fab. I really cant praise it enough and Ive run out of superlatives so had better stop. Book it, you wont be disappointed! Hide
