Offering the perfect base to explore the northern Lake District and western fells. You are only 7 miles from the town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, and the town boasts a great selection of independent restaurants, shops and pubs. The town of Keswick (20 miles) hosts a market every Saturday and there is a farmer’s market on a Thursday. This retreat is located only 3 miles from Loweswater and Holme Force waterfalls. The Wainwright – Blake Fell (2 miles away) is the highest point of the Loweswater Fells. Within 20 miles, you will find Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater where you can sail and kayak. For bike enthusiasts, Whinlatter is 14 miles away and has some great bike tracks. Visit the harbour town of Maryport, 15.5 miles, which has an aquarium with a café, crazy golf and children’s play area, and the Wave Centre which is home to a Clip and Climb indoor climbing facility, great for a wet day!

The property provides a warm welcome and has been finished to a high standard throughout. On the ground floor, there is a spacious, bright, open-plan kitchen/dining area and informal lounge area overlooking the garden. The kitchen is contemporary and stylish with a small utility room with a washing machine and storage for wet coats and muddy walking boots just off the kitchen. Enjoy a comfy seat and enjoy a good book while the chef in your party prepares dinner to enjoy around the table while making plans for the days ahead. From the kitchen, you will find a spacious hallway with additional coat and shoe storage and a formal lounge with Smart TV and a cosy fire. There is a ground-floor WC in the hallway too. Heading up the staircase to the first floor, from the hallway you will find three bedrooms. One bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom with a bath with shower over to relax in after a long walk.
There is a pretty, enclosed, rear garden which is accessed from the open-plan kitchen area, and this offers a lovely spot for a morning coffee or al fresco dining on a summer evening. The front of the house has an attractive communal lawned area with trees.

Had an amazing stay at this beautiful home. Plenty of space for our family of 4 plus 1 dog. Enclosed garden which was perfect for us. The house had everything we required. Brilliant location for walks, not too far away from shops, pubs and restaurants or St Bees beach. This is the second time we have stayed at this amazing property and it is still absolutely perfect for us . It is beautifully furnished just like a show home and is in a rural location outside of Keswick . If you are looking for modern 5 star accommodation in a peaceful setting you wont be disappointed .. *****

We loved staying here! The house felt spacious and luxurious, yet also cosy and like a real home. It made a perfect base from which to explore walking, swimming and bike-riding locally, and visiting places like Wordsworth House Cockermouth, the Beacon Museum Whitehaven, and Birdoswald Fort on Hadrians Wall. We had a lovely stay, the accommodation was perfectly situated on the quieter side of Cumbria, but still in the heart of this beautify part of the world. The house was modern, clean and very comfortable.

The Millfields is a beautiful modern property built in a traditional cottage style that is furnished beautifully with sumptuous furnishings making the stay very comfortable and luxurious. Furthermore all of the the bed mattresses are extremely comfortable. A good nights sleep is guaranteed after a hard days walking.

We had a wonderful stay at The Millfields. Lovely quiet location with many places to visit very close by. The house is lovely and modern and very comfortable with plenty of room. There is a wonderful pub called the countryman down the road which is gorgeous, dog friendly and the food is just superb! All in all a great weeks holiday was had

What a lovely house to stay in, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Good location for beaches, lakes and mountains. We loved paddleboarding on different nearby lakes.

Had a really lovely stay here (30/06-06/07). The weather was pretty rubbish all week but that cant be helped. The accommodation is really nice, beautifully decorated, and with everything you need. A nice quiet location, but still only about 30-40 mins from various locations like Rydal caves, Aira force and some of the lakes. Also only 25 mins to WhRead moreitehaven where there is a supermarket to get the food shop done for the week. We would stay here again Hide
