We had a really lovely holiday in Steppes Cottage, Peterchurch - there were 6 adults, one 4 year old and a well behaved (mostly!) dog. The cottage is lovely and we enjoyed playing board games in the evening around the kitchen table. The bedrooms were all very comfortable although there was nowhere to hang our clothes up, except a couple of hooks Read moreon the back of the door. The living room was the only area that was not so comfortable - you walk straight into this room from outside and there is no where to leave shoes for 8 people, plus coats and scarves, etc, nor does the room seat 8 people! And lastly, although we were attracted to the cottage because of the hot tub, this was impossible to use as it did not heat up to temperature - unless someone is prepared to miss out on days out and spend all their time tending the fire whilst the rest of us go out for the day, I cannot see how the tub can be useable. However, again, none of this detracted from the lovely holiday and the friendly people we met in Peterchurch and Hay on Wye, and we would recommend Steppes Cottage to our family and friends, whilst pointing out what to, and what not to expect.
