Enjoy panoramic views of the Solent from this fabulous seafront home in West Wight. With direct access to the coastal path and the water’s edge, it is situated in Fort Victoria Country Park which is a beautiful area of quiet and peaceful coastal woodland with nature trails, wildlife ponds and a fossil-rich shoreline making for fabulous local walks from the house. The charming and historic harbour town of Yarmouth is 1.5 miles away with its wide selection of interesting shops, inns and eateries and some of the oldest architecture on the Isle of Wight, including a 16th-century castle. Five miles west are the Needles – an iconic series of chalk cliffs rising dramatically from the sea. Nearby beaches include Colwell, Totland and Alum Bays with Freshwater Bay and Compton Bay on the south coast just a 10-15 minute drive away on the south coast. The county town of Newport, 11 miles away, is also easily accessible.

Park at the rear of this coastal home and walk through the back garden to your main entrance. Once inside, the hallway has a handy WC, and two half-staircases. Take the downward staircase to drop your belongings in a choice of two ground-floor bedrooms – a king-size with a beautiful bay window overlooking the sea and doors onto the front lawn, and another king room – both bedrooms on this floor sharing the use of a family bathroom. On the first floor, the kitchen contains all the essentials for effortless self-catering, and links via double doors to the social hub of your holiday: a large sitting and dining room. The dining area serves up far-reaching views across the Solent with French doors opening onto the balcony. Once you’ve had your fill of fresh air and food, stretch out on one of the comfortable sofas to watch TV and chat about the next day’s adventures. There’s more bedtime accommodation on the second floor, where a large family suite has a king-size bed plus a pair of full-size bunks. Full of light, this family room has its own en-suite shower room for ultimate convenience.

Outside, stroll across the front lawn across the lane and you’ll be on the beach within seconds. At the rear of the property, the terraced garden is private, dog-proof and planted for seasonal interest, with a furnished patio area for al fresco dining and steps to one side of the house that link to the front lawn. Guests also benefit from private parking for two cars, with additional free parking subject to availability at Fort Victoria (200 metres).

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this beautiful house. It's roomy, clean, comfortable and well equipped with lovely views across the Solent and just a short walk from Yarmouth.

A fantastic property in a great location. Being sailors, the views over the Solent were so relaxing. We had sunsets and great dawns every day. Watching the water change hourly is so theraputic. Great location on a walking path on the edge of the park. Add to this a sun trap in the garden and it does not get much better!
