As well as the Roman history of this old town, Maiden Castle is one of the largest Iron Age Hillforts in Europe (1.6 miles Southwest of Dorchester). The unspoilt village of Abbotsbury (9 miles) with a swannery and sub-tropical gardens (both 10 miles) are a great day out. Step inside and make your way to the heart of the home: the open-plan kitchen/dining area. Take a moment to appreciate the chic, modern styling – it’s ideal for entertaining – and then climb the stairs to the first floor, where you’ll find a bright and airy lounge bathed in natural light from the Juliet balcony. When it’s time to eat, head to the kitchen area to rustle up some dinner to share around the large dining table beside the French doors that lead out into the garden. After dinner, pour yourself a glass of wine and unwind in the lounge while you catch up on your favourite TV shows. At the end of the day, you’ll find four beautifully-styled bedrooms to choose from – a generous king-size on the first floor, and a cosy single, a charming twin and a king-size with an en-suite shower room on the second floor. A lovely stay. The townhouse was central to Weymouth and very clean. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and a nice garden in which to sit outside. We had breakfast out there one morning and tea on another day. The welcome pack was useful with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. The location was quiet and a great place to stay for families or a group of Read morefriends (which we were). With two bathrooms and a separate toilet there was no waiting to use one! The lounge was spacious with large a TV screen and a Juliet balcony. There were food shops nearby, also the beach, and a lovely local walk along an old disused train line going towards Portland. This was a perfect setting for a holiday. Hide

We enjoyed our stay in Palm Gate, it's a good holiday home. Clean and comfortable and being able to park in the drive was good.
