Very comfortable accommodation we slept very well, better than back home ! Easy access to the beach, which was a great as we liked the beach better than some of the others. Had a few evenings at the Atlantic Hotel to watch the sunset. If you like pizza they have very good ones there !

Perfect size for our party, three bathrooms, nice outdoor space, sea views and it was very clean when we arrived.

The apartment's location also makes it a must-visit; a ten-minute walk (you can pick wild samphire for your picnic on the way) down to Polzeath Beach, which is dotted with rock pools, a cave and is one of the best places to learn to surf on the west coast.

When someone says penthouse, I think of glass, steel and a city skyline, not the wild Cornish coast. But it's this contrast that makes Tregales so spectacular; a contemporary interior (Charles Eames leather chair, anyone?) juxtaposed with the rugged landscape of Polzeath.

I adore properties that are full of character, so wasn't sure how I'd feel about an ultra modern apartment, but the reality is I ended up wanting to live there. From the massive fridge with icemaker to the cream L-shaped sofa, it was all so cool like if MTV made an episode of (Cornish) Cribs or where a Cornish rock star might hang out.

The open-plan lounge and kitchen is a well-designed space for sitting around chatting while (someone else, hopefully) prepares the food which you can eat at the six-seater table or al fresco on the enormous terrace spanning the length of the penthouse. The three bedrooms (two en-suite) are modern and immaculate and two have balcony access.
