Enjoy a memorable coastal break at this retreat in Rock, well placed for beach days, coastal walks, and outdoor adventures. A short stroll (under 500 metres) brings you to the secluded cove at Porthilly or the golden sands of Rock Beach. At low tide, you can wander along the sand to Daymer Bay, and from there, pick up the scenic South West Coast Path towards Greenaway Beach and Polzeath. Best of all, Porthilly, Rock, and Daymer Bay are dog-friendly year-round, making them ideal for families bringing along their four-legged friends. For golfers, the renowned St Enodoc Golf Club is close by (0.5 miles), offering two courses with spectacular sea views. Water sports lovers should visit the Rock Sailing and Water Ski Club, where you can try your hand at sailing or water skiing. If surfing or bodyboarding is more your style, head to Polzeath (2 miles), famous for its excellent waves, surf schools, and equipment hire.

Inside, the heart of the retreat is the spacious kitchen, complete with a charming bay window that frames views of the garden. Fully equipped with everything you need, it’s easy to savour a slow breakfast or prepare a home-cooked feast. The inviting lounge has plenty of room to unwind, with generous sofas, a crackling open fire, and glimpses of the estuary beyond. Double glass doors lead onto a balcony, where you can sip your morning coffee in the fresh air while taking in the view. Sleeping up to eight guests, the property has four beautifully finished bedrooms to choose from. The master super-king size bedroom boasts its own en-suite shower room and direct access to the balcony, where you can let in the sea breeze. The remaining bedrooms – two twin rooms and a fun-filled bunk room – share a contemporary family bathroom.

Outside, the south-facing garden is a private haven with a wide lawn bordered by mature trees and shrubs. Whether you’re soaking up the Cornish sunshine, dining alfresco on the patio, or watching the children play, it’s a wonderful place to spend time together. Ample driveway parking is provided, making it easy to explore the delights of the surrounding area.

We have over the years rented 9-11 different cottages in the Rock area and especially liked the extension in the kitchen towards the garden. We would rent again.

The outside of the cottage is looking a bit tired and the outside furniture is poor. The garden was in very poor condition.

We loved the enclosed garden and proximity to the paths leading to the beach and onto the golf course - perfect for dog walking and not having to drive.
