Property code: OC-L50073

Perfect for large families or groups seeking space, style and luxury, this impressive property is a tranquil haven, set along a leafy private lane, yet within 0.5 miles of everything that the vibrant resort of Rock has to offer. Go sailing or waterskiing, swim or paddleboard, play golf, stride out on the coastal path or simply enjoy the views as you relax in the bars and restaurants. You can also hop on a ferry to take you across the estuary to Padstow, where shopping and seafood restaurants are waiting to be explored. At Polzeath Beach, just 2.5 miles, you can hire wet suits and boards and learn to surf, while in Wadebridge, 5.5 miles, there’s bike hire for the scenic Camel Trail. Wander through the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac, just 6 miles away, where there are more excellent restaurants, and head to magical Tintagel Castle, 13.5 miles.

Set over three storeys and a mezzanine, the house has huge amounts of space for guests of all ages to get together or relax in peace and quiet. Every room has been thoughtfully designed for both style and functionality, with high-quality furnishings, charming art works and beautifully co-ordinating colour schemes. Enter the vast hallway where a circular glass lift (available on request) or a curvy staircase takes you down to the lower-ground floor, where you’ll find a cosy snug with a pool table, Smart TV and desk. There are also two bedrooms on this level – a super-king-size and a triple bunk room – both with built-in wardrobes and direct access to the patio. They share a family bathroom with a bath and WC. Stroll back up to the ground floor to find the four remaining bedrooms, all beautifully decorated and with ample storage. Two have en-suite shower rooms and access to a balcony, while the others share an elegant family bathroom. Also on this floor is a utility room with laundry facilities. The first floor has incredible wow-factor – an enormous open-plan living space which combines the kitchen, dining room and lounge, with a balcony at the far end that runs the width of the house. A soaring ceiling, pristine white walls, masses of glazing and a polished wooden floor fill this sumptuous space with a light and airy ambience, and there’s plenty of plush seating where you can stretch out and enjoy the Smart TV. The stunning kitchen features everything a gourmet chef could need, including a double oven and two drinks fridges, and the marble-topped island will be a pleasure to work at. Slide back the bi-fold doors and you have a choice of two incredible places to enjoy your feasts: the long table indoors, or the table with views on the balcony. There’s also a handy WC on this floor. The final interior element is a set of narrow stairs up to a mezzanine level, tucked under sloping ceilings and overlooking the dining table. With a table tennis table and a small sofa, this is the perfect spot for children to work off excess energy before supper.

The private grounds include manicured lawns with beds full of flowers, mature trees and shrubs, and a terrace where you can set up meals and drinks in the sunshine or under the stars. Shared with the next-door property are meadows, paddocks with walkways, and a tennis court with a pavilion housing two showers, a WC, body boards and tennis racquets. There’s also a shared amphitheatre-style fire pit, perfect for toasting marshmallows with little ones while telling bedtime stories. Private parking here can accommodate up to six cars.

The property is fabulous, but for us it was the gardens that made our holiday, as they are absolutely fantastic, and it was a fabulous surprise when we walked into them, we really couldn't wish for more. We had real family quality time in the gardens and on the tennis court and as a family of just adults, it was a wonderful respite from everyday liRead moreving. Hide
