This chic North Cornish coastal retreat is a haven of tranquillity for families who love to relax after seaside adventures. Experience the laid-back lifestyle of the Cornish shoreline with a walk to Porthilly Cove (0.5 miles) and, at low tide, on to the famous Rock Beach (1 mile). Polzeath and Daymer Bay are also a short drive away (4 miles) and offer sandy beaches, castle building and paddling. Adventure seekers are in for a treat with surfing lessons at Polzeath and sea safaris at Rock, where you can spot seals and wildlife. Padstow (17 miles) is a must-visit with its maze of cobbled streets, lively galleries and famous harbourside restaurants that have achieved celebrity status. Keen walkers and hikers will enjoy following the ascents of the South West Coast Path, where perching at a bench and enjoying a Cornish cream tea is almost a rule.

Arrive through the gates and follow the drive to this inviting haven, where gentle lawns and blooming flowerbeds offer the first cheerful welcome to your holiday. Drop your bags down in the hallway, and enter the living room, where comfortable sofas and a warming wood burner offer a cosy retreat. Kids can slip off to the snug for movie marathons and board game tournaments. Through to the well-equipped kitchen/diner, powder-blue walls and a sleek breakfast bar provide a stylish setting to rustle up group meals, while the long wooden dining table is ample for gathering the troop together. An office space is available off the kitchen and there's also a utility room. At bedtime, take refuge in one of the first-floor bedrooms. At the end of the hall, a super-king-size zip-and-link is charming and boasts an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC. A king-size bedroom and twin bedroom sit at the centre of the hallway, while another super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom sits on the right-hand side and features an en-suite shower room. A bathroom with a bath, a shower and a WC finishes off this floor.

Slide open the bi-folding doors in the kitchen/diner to discover a tiered garden with a patio dining area, perfect for savouring delicious Cornish cream teas. A soft lawn invites you to sip a beverage in the sunshine, while the summer house is great for lying back with a novel. The parking is suitable for two large or three small cars.
