This chic three-bedroom Cornish retreat offers the best of both worlds – peaceful rural living with all the excitement of Rock close by. Set back from the main Rock Road and backing onto a gentle stream and green fields, it’s an easy base for exploring with family or friends. A 1-mile stroll along scenic footpaths leads to a tranquil estuary beach, pretty church and local art gallery at Porthilly Cove. At low tide, wander across to Rock Beach’s golden sands and dunes (2 miles), perfect for calm swims, sailing, waterskiing or even a wildlife-spotting sea safari. Golfers can tee off at the local course (1 mile), while keen surfers can drive to Polzeath (2.5 miles) for superb waves and lessons. Within 1 mile, choose from fine dining or tasty fish and chips. The ferry to Padstow (2 miles) offers easy days out exploring the harbour town’s galleries and celebrity restaurants.

Arranged over two floors, this bright and contemporary home makes the most of its far-reaching views with a reverse-level layout. Upstairs, the large lounge invites you to sink into plush cream sofas after a day at the beach, warmed by a modern wood burner. Steps lead down to a stylish dining area with full-length glass doors opening onto a first-floor balcony with splendid country views. The sleek, high-spec kitchen includes a breakfast bar for laid-back mornings and everything you need to cook at home, while a snug/media room next door keeps younger guests happily entertained with a Smart TV, PlayStation, games and Apple TV – plus a sofa bed for two extra guests on request. Downstairs, three beautiful bedrooms open onto the south-facing garden. The first king-size room has a Smart TV and an en-suite bathroom, a second king-size room has an en-suite shower room and a lovely king zip and link bed, comes with its own shower room and WC. There’s an additional upstairs shower room, and a practical utility room housing a dog crate.

Outside, the fully enclosed garden is perfect for kicking back, with wooden decking, comfy rattan seating, a charcoal BBQ and peaceful countryside views. A heated outdoor shower is perfect for rinsing sandy toes and wetsuits, with a single garage for boards or a small boat. Off-road parking is provided for four cars.
