Treat yourself to a stylish seaside getaway at this gorgeous Scandinavian-style lodge set down a sandy no-through road in the heart of the surf village of Polzeath. Sleeping eight people across three stylish bedrooms, it’s a wonderful accommodation option for families or groups of friends looking to discover the wild beauty of Cornwall’s coastline together. Wake up, grab your surfboard and hit the waves at Polzeath Beach (0.5 miles). Take a lesson at one of the surf schools or check out the village’s vibrant selection of restaurants and cafes. For a touch of history, take the gentle hike to St Enodoc Church (1.5 miles). Once hidden beneath sand dunes, this pretty church is the resting place of the famous poet, Sir John Betjeman. Alternatively, head off to Boscastle Harbour (16.5 miles) to explore the historic fishing village, browse the impressive art galleries and visit the quirky Witchcraft Museum.
Pull up in the private parking area (there’s room for two cars) and take four steps up to your elegant lodge. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a bright and cheerful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with fresh whitewashed walls highlighted with pretty pops of beachy blue. With its gentle coastal-themed decor, the space is a sanctuary of laidback style and barefoot comfort. The heart of the home awaits in the ocean-blue kitchen, which comes complete with glossy white worktops and a chic breakfast bar. Gather the gang to eat at the dining table, which is bathed in natural light from the impressive floor-to-ceiling glass doors. After dinner, pour yourself a glass of wine and unwind by the crackling wood burner in the lounge area. At the end of the day, there are three calming bedrooms to choose from upstairs. The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed and an en-suite shower room, while the family room provides a king-size bed as well as custom-built bunk beds for the kids. The third bedroom features twin beds (can be converted into a super-king-size bed upon request) and an en-suite shower room with a rainfall shower. Completing the layout, you’ll find one stylish wet room with a rainfall shower with an attachment on the ground floor, as well as one on the first floor.
Throw open the doors from the dining area and step out onto the balmy sundeck to soak up the sunshine from the comfort of the corner sofa. If it gets too hot, a retractable shade allows you to enjoy a little shade. Later in the day, fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco, before you hop into the outdoor hot tub to watch the stars light up the clear night sky.
