This impressive family home enjoys a peaceful, elevated position overlooking the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall. The large coastal retreat sleeps ten guests and is the perfect base for large family gatherings and get-togethers with friends, with multiple social spaces both indoors and outside. Your nearest beach is Greenaway, which is reached via a steep path from the South West Coast Path. This sand-and-shingle beach rarely gets crowded, even in the height of summer. You’ll also be within easy reach of the family-friendly beach at Daymer Bay (0.5 miles) and the surfing hot spot of Polzeath (1 mile). A slightly longer walk along the coast path brings you to the upmarket resort of Rock (2 miles). From Rock, a ferry takes you to the historic port of Padstow, where you can potter amongst the cobbled streets, browse the boutiques and galleries, or join one of the boat trips from the harbour.

The stunning holiday home is decorated in calming coastal hues and the large windows flood the property with natural light and frame tranquil estuary views. The social hub of the house is an impressive lounge/kitchen/diner, with glass doors opening onto the sun terrace. At one end of the room is a fabulous kitchen with all the equipment and worktop space needed to cater for a large group, as well as an island with bar stools – the ideal spot to perch with a coffee as you plan your day. Taking centre stage is a vast dining table, where you can gather for dinner parties and special occasions, and for family breakfasts you can come together at the table in the sunny conservatory. At the opposite end of the room (down a flight of steps) is a beautiful lounge with a collection of comfortable seating, a Smart TV, and a roaring wood burner. Four of the five bedrooms are located on the ground floor, including a welcoming king-size room with a dressing table, TV, and en-suite shower room. There are three twin bedrooms, two of which share access to a Jack and Jill-style shower room. Completing the ground floor is a family bathroom and a handy utility room. Upstairs, the master super-king-size bedroom enjoys far-reaching views across the estuary, as well as access to a glass-fronted balcony and its own en-suite bathroom. Rounding off this floor is the TV room, which also has a desk area and doors to the balcony.

Outside, a decked terrace provides a sunny spot to dine alfresco in summer months, with a choice of seating areas, a BBQ, and far-reaching coastal views. Beyond the terrace, and down some steps, is a lawn where children can play. You’ll find hanging hooks for wetsuits as well as an outside tap for rinsing off sandy shoes. Private parking is available for 3-4 cars on the driveway.

Lovely comfortable week enjoyed with the family and dogs at Brae Heights. We liked the sociable space of the kitchen, dining area and lounge. The kitchen was well equipped - there was nothing we needed that we couldnt find and we enjoyed some delicious meals in. Great to have the utility room for the dogs, especially after beach walks.
