Sympathetically updated throughout, this spacious, light-filled retreat makes a fabulous holiday home for up to 10 guests eager to discover a tranquil stretch of the unforgettable North Cornwall coast. The property enjoys a fantastic location on the banks of the River Camel, with the beautiful Rock Beach and the secluded Porthilly Cove close by. The charming village of Rock has a choice of fantastic places to eat and drink, and is also home to the popular St Enodoc Golf Club. Rock makes a great base for lovers of water sports, with opportunities to go sailing, water skiing and paddleboarding, or you can take a boat trip out to spot birdlife and wildlife further up the coast. A foot ferry will take you across the River Camel to the thriving fishing town of Padstow (2 miles), famous for its seafood restaurants and busy working harbour.
A couple of steps lead up to the front door, with a quaint flagstone-floored hallway providing a useful space for leaving coats before you go through into the fresh and colourful lounge. This cheery space has a Smart TV, sumptuous seating and a wood burner set in an impressive stone surround. Next to this, the fully equipped kitchen/diner has been thoughtfully updated, with plenty of workspace, perfect for rustling up meals for family get-togethers which you can enjoy around the farmhouse-style dining table which enjoys wonderful views over the estuary. Exploring the ground floor further you will find a handy utility room, a stylish shower room and the first of the property’s five cosy bedrooms: a cute bunk room. Heading upstairs, you will find the elegant family bathroom and the four remaining bedrooms, all decorated in delicate soothing shades, with a range of original features including wooden panelling and timber beams. The first is a lovely super-king-size room with a beautiful en-suite bathroom featuring a characterful freestanding bath and views across the river. There’s another delightful super-king-size, alongside a cheerful twin and a pretty king-size room which has a refreshing en-suite shower room.
Heading back outside, the airy patio has plenty of sturdy garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ, offering an ideal spot for dining alfresco and taking in the magnificent views out across the estuary. Parking is available for two cars, and there’s also a handy outside tap.
