This stylish countryside bolthole is nestled amongst the rolling hills of Derbyshire, 4.5 miles from the historic spa town of Matlock. Sleeping four guests, the cottage makes the ideal base for small families and couples looking to explore the quaint towns and villages dotted throughout Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. The cottage is located in the rural village of Milltown, which has a friendly pub, and is also the starting point for several picturesque walks, including along the River Amber. Keen walkers will also be within easy reach of the long-distance Monsal Trail and Limestone Way. Nearby family attractions include Crich Tramway Village, Heights of Abraham, and Chatsworth House, all within 12 miles. You can also enjoy day trips to the attractive Peak District towns of Bakewell (13 miles) and Buxton (25 miles).

The idyllic stone cottage is bursting with character, thanks to fabulous beamed ceilings, deep-set windows, and exposed stonework. The decor is calm and relaxing, with natural tones to complement the cottage’s original features. On the ground floor, you’ll find two inviting lounges, both with sumptuous seating to sink into. One of the lounges has a Smart TV for enjoying movie nights together, and a roaring wood burner for chilly nights. The other has a selection of books and board games with an electric fire. Off of the second lounge is an office space, should you need to catch up with work whilst away. The social hub of the house is a country-style kitchen/diner where you can whip up tasty feasts using local ingredients, which you can share together around the central island or at the bench-style dining table overlooking the garden. In summer months, open up the patio doors for an indoor/outdoor dining experience. Rounding off the ground floor is a handy utility room and a separate WC. Upstairs, discover two exceptional bedrooms – a super-king-size and a king-size - with gorgeous wooden furniture, plush linens, and tranquil colour schemes. The super-king-size has a large dressing area and an en-suite shower room, and you’ll also find a fabulous bathroom with a freestanding bath on this level.

Immediately outside the cottage is a wrap-around terrace with magnificent countryside views and a choice of seating areas. From here, steps lead down to a lawn with swings for the children. Private parking is available on the driveway for two cars.

Lovely location and we'll equipped. Be prepared for AGA cooking although there is also a proper hob. Take slippers as owner has a no shoes rule beyond kitchen. Plenty of room and well equipped.
