Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, this riverside property is ideal for hikers, cyclists and fellow outdoor enthusiasts, with the Slate Trail passing right by the property and Snowdonia itself just 18 miles away. The village of Betws-y-coed (7.6 miles) plays host to a variety of pubs, restaurants and a selection of shops, ideal for meals out or picking up local produce. Kick off muddy walking boots in the entrance and be greeted by the property’s social heart, the farmhouse-style living space that combines the lounge, kitchen and dining areas into one warming space. Settle in the lounge after days of outdoor adventure; fire up the wood burner, flick on the TV or open your holiday read. When stomachs rumble, the rural-inspired kitchen boasts everything needed for cooking up Welsh feasts, which can be enjoyed at the breakfast bar if numbers are low, or at the dining table by the window for more formal affairs. At the end of each busy day away, head up to the first floor and choose from three restful bedrooms: a master king-size room, a pretty double, and a bunk room perfect for little ones. Serving the bedrooms and completing the interior is a well-appointed family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Make the most of the incredible national park vistas outside, where a scenic rear garden is enclosed for children and pets to play safely. We had a lovely weekend here with our dogs, and it fitted our needs perfectly. There's not much in the way of restaurants or shops nearby, but the owners have a really handy little information book with the best places to go and shops that will deliver to the house. There are baby gates on the stairs that we found really useful too. Everything waRead mores super clean and there were plenty of extra towels if needed. The garden is a good size, the only thing I'd say is just be aware that there are sometimes sheep in the field directly behind the property, and the fences aren't that high, so if you have dogs with a high hunting instinct, you may have to keep an eye on them. All in all we had a great time, and the owners are lovely:) Hide
