For a memorable day out, hop on a heritage steam train to Holt (5.5 miles), a Georgian town where you can explore cafés, galleries and a beautiful 100-acre country park. History lovers may choose to visit the 18th-century windmill at Cley next the Sea (7.5 miles). Wildlife enthusiasts won’t be disappointed, with local spots like Pensthorpe (19 miles) ideal for birdwatching. The vast sandy shores, historic harbour and dunes of Wells-next-the-Sea (17 miles) are also not to be missed.

With a few little, easy to resolve improvements the cottage is an ideal base to explore the Norfolk coastline.
