This welcoming cottage is tucked away on a quiet residential street close to the River Waveney and gives families the best of both worlds: peaceful surroundings and easy access to the bustling market town of Beccles. Set on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, the charming town of Beccles is packed with independent shops, cosy pubs, and cafés, and boasts its own theatre, along with a brimming events calendar that includes food, art, literature, and beer festivals. Warm days call for a bracing swim at the award-winning Beccles Lido, while the Broads National Park is right on the edge of town and perfect for exploring the waters by kayak, canoe or guided boat tour. Take to two wheels and discover the cycle routes that wind through the rolling Suffolk countryside, or head just 9 miles east to reach the coast and a choice of sandy beaches.

The moment you step inside this charming cottage, you'll be greeted by a central inglenook fireplace with a wood burner; the kind of place that instantly makes you want to settle in, kick off your shoes, and get cosy. Continue past the half wall with its exposed beams, and you'll find the farmhouse-style kitchen, where crisp white cabinets and modern appliances provide everything needed for a fuss-free stay. Gather at the table for tasty dishes and memorable nights of board games. There's even a conservatory with comfortable seating, should you fancy escaping into a book. Resume on the ground floor is the family bathroom, featuring a bath, shower, and WC. Follow the steep traditional cottage stairs up to the first floor, where two adorable double bedrooms offer relaxation for the night.

Each morning, use the Tassimo machine to make a percolated coffee which can be carried out to the enclosed courtyard and enjoyed at the dining furniture. There is private parking here for one car.

We enjoyed our stay at dumpling cottage, lovely hosts and friendly neighbours, well positioned particularly for the quay and access to walks over the marshes. Only downside is with the road being a dead end manouevering off the road is challenging

Cosy little cottage in a great position within easy walking distance of the river and the town. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the wine, biscuits and other essentials. Stairs definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues but were in our seventies and coped fine. No room to turn the car round unless the neighbours arRead moree out so you have to reverse up the road. But very clean and well equipped and a good base to explore this lovely area. Hide
