Just wonderful. Away from the noise, surrounded by all kinds of woodland birds, small and large - from finches up to woodpeckers and jays - and in a beautiful garden, with walks into the surrounding forest and hills. Could not have been better. Very well-equipped kitchen.

The secluded location was a positive for us. The track leading from the main road, through the forest was a 12min trip in first gear, but in itself wasn't an issue. The cottage provided us with a quiet and peaceful stay with everything we could wish for.

Beautiful property in a gorgeous location. This property is very remote which adds to its charm, its so quiet and peaceful but my 3 children (aged 8-14) never got bored, they loved the garden and the forest behind. Although the property is secluded, its just a 10 min drive to the local Tesco & Perth. During our stay we were delighted to see red squRead moreirrels, plenty of birds, deer & rabbits around the barn. Overall, a fantastic place with everything you could need for a family, highly recommend. Hide

What an excellent visit to Barclayfield! The owners were fantastic in guiding us up the single track road and the cottage itself. This cottage is amazing, it is located on a mountain and the drive up to it from the public road takes 8 minutes in first gear. You are 8 minutes away from the nearest neighbour. All stress leaves your body as you drive slowly up to a beautiful barn conversion in a huge garden with lots of birds and squirrels that come up to the window to eat from Read morethe birdfeeders and look inside at you. We even saw deer in the garden. I really wish I booked longer than two weeks. Owners are great people too. Hide
