Enjoying a peaceful location surrounded by stunning scenery, this pretty and spacious detached cottage offers peace and tranquillity, and makes a fantastic base for a romantic retreat in the beautiful north-eastern corner of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The cottage is close to the picturesque village of Strathyre (0.5 miles) on the other side of a beautiful river running from Loch Voil. The area offers miles of breathtaking scenic walks and cycle routes to be enjoyed from the doorstep, as well as a range of Munros for keen climbers to bag. The river and glen around Balquhidder is steeped in history: the Balquhidder kirkyard attracts many visitors from around the world to see the resting place of the famous outlaw and folk hero Rob Roy. A range of water sports are available at Loch Earn only 8 miles away. When you have explored the beauty of the surrounding area take a daytrip to the major city of Stirling 25 miles away to indulge in art galleries, shopping, leisure and historic attractions.

Stroneslaney Cottage is located very close to Balquhidder village, typically described as being less than 2 miles away, situated between Balquhidder and Strathyre. This area, near to Loch Voil and the Monachyle Mhor Hotel is a scenic, rural setting within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It is easily accessible from the main route while offering a secluded, rural and peaceful environment.

Stepping inside this cheerful, fresh and traditional cottage, the light and welcoming open-plan kitchen/diner is an airy and attractive space perfect for preparing and sharing romantic meals for two. The dining area is in the corner by the patio doors, allowing plenty of light in, while the spacious fully equipped kitchen has ample room to create culinary treats. At the heart of this delightful room, a roaring wood burner gives the whole space a lovely warm glow. A few stairs lead down into the heart of the property: a cosy rustic-flavoured lounge with a beamed ceiling, wooden floors and a second wood burner, set in a lovely large fireplace. With cosy seating, Sky TV and an iPod dock, this is a relaxing space to unwind in at the end of an unforgettable day in this awe-inspiring part of Scotland. Exploring the cottage further, the hallway has traditional exposed stone walls and leads to a refreshing shower room. A few steps lead up into the tastefully decorated and elegantly furnished double bedroom.

The delightful garden has plenty of seating, with bird feeders dotted about so you can spot some of the many feathered visitors to this enchanting area. You may also glimpse an array of wildlife including red squirrels, pine martens, pheasants and deer.

Very comfortable cottage in a great location for walkers and cyclists. Good for watching the local wildlife with regular visits by red squirrel's and occasionally pine martins.

Stroneslaney Cottage is so peaceful - great for a relaxing holiday. Lovely to see the red squirrel nearly every day. It's a good base for exploring this beautiful part of the country.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What an amazing place to spend Christmas and nicely decorated for xmas. Seeing red squirrels and woodpeckers made it even more special.

Beautiful, tranquil cottage , so quiet and peaceful , a bubble where you can escape from the stress of everyday life . Amazing birdlife and the home to the most athletic and gymnastic red squirrels .

Fantastic location, and the perfect base to explore the lochs in the surrounding area. Very peaceful, lots of wildlife to see. The house itself was comfortable, especially the cosy lounge. The kitchen was very well equipped.

Lovely comfortable cottage ,spacious ,peaceful and remote. Only negative was the very difficult approach road which is narrow with not enough passing places. We met on coming vehicles 3 times.

We have been going to this cottage since 2018 and it is in the perfect location for cyclists, and is in a beautiful tranquil position with abundant wildlife around. It's located on the national cycle route 7 and you can head either north or south from the cottage on the cycle way. We do anywhere between 25 to 35 miles a day on our hybrid bikes withRead more most of it off road on well defined trails through the woods or by the Lochs. We loved our stay at the cottage and had the most glorious weather, which certainly was a bonus in Scotland! The cottage was equipped with everything we needed, and was warm and comfortable. The peace and quiet was the most outstanding feature. We could sleep at night with the bedroom window open and hear nothing but the birds. A perfect rural retreat with easy access to the wider area for sightseeing and walks. The cottage is cosy and very well appointed. The garden is a haven for local wildlife. Ideal for us as a couple with our two dogs. We would love to return.

Stroneyslaney Cottage is a beautiful, well kept cottage. Clearly put together with love. The location is remote but there are some lovely walks from the cottage. Jeanette and Gordon were very welcoming. The goodie pack on arrival was a lovely thought. Lovely, comfortable cosy cottage with fabulous decor. Great location for exploring the local area. Beautiful walks in very close proximity. The garden is stunning with an abundance of wildlife that you can even watch from the lounge window! The owners are extremely kind and helpful.
