To the north, the historic market town of Melton Mowbray (7 miles) has a rich heritage and is known for a delicious range of local produce including pork pies and Stilton cheese. Heading south-west, the vibrant city of Leicester (12 miles) is home to a wealth of great pubs, shops and restaurants, with popular attractions including the National Space Centre, the King Richard III Visitor Centre, Watermead Country Park and the Newarke Houses Museum. Birdwatchers and walkers should travel south-east to stunning Rutland Water near Oakham (18 miles), home of the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre, Aqua Park Rutland and the Lyndon Visitor Centre where you can spot the Rutland ospreys.
On the ground floor, the accommodation comprises the most delightful sitting room, with a log burner overlooking the garden to the rear. There is a guest cloakroom and a large, light-filled kitchen which has a table that seats up to 10, and French windows onto the garden at the back. In addition, there is second sitting room which is ideal as a playroom/TV room and has an Xbox and lots of board games. There is also a sofa bed in here which can be made up for a child if requested at time of booking. Completing the ground floor is a good sized utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer – this leads out to a car port which takes two cars. On the first floor, there are four bedrooms comprising two equally sized master bedrooms with king-size beds and en-suites, a twin bedroom, and a zip-and-link bedroom which can be made up as a king-size bed or twin beds. The accommodation is rounded off with a refreshing family bathroom.
At the back of the house is a large, fully enclosed garden, next door to a delightful horse paddock. The garden is fully fenced, ideal for dogs and children alike. There is comfortable outdoor seating and a barbeque. There’s plenty of parking space along the private drive and in the undercover carport.
