Hanbury Cottage is a very spacious property, with plenty of room for the seven of us and our two dogs. The enclosed garden is a great, safe space for dogs, although unfortunately the previous guests had left five dog messes behind, which was disappointing and rather inconsiderate to both the owners and future guests. The beds were very comfortabRead morele and the showers were excellent. One slightly strange quirk is that the hot taps on the sinks turn the opposite way to what you might expect! The location is great, with The Carington Arms just a hop, skip and a jump away. It serves excellent food and has a lovely beer garden. March House Farm Shop is also within easy reach, with a nice caf and various events for children during the summer. On the way, you pass The Milk Shed in Great Dalby, where you can pick up very fresh milk from a vending machine a fun little stop with a playground behind it. On Saturday mornings, there is a pop-up caf at Ashby Folville village hall, which looked very popular while we were there. There are also plenty of lovely walks around the village, with the routes well signposted. A few things you may want to bring with you are dishwasher tablets, salt and pepper, tea and coffee, and pods if you want to use the coffee machine. The hand soaps were all different and almost empty, so we werent sure whether these had been left by previous guests; it might be worth bringing some just in case. There wasnt a welcome pack (or cake) when we arrived, and as there isnt a village shop, wed recommend picking up some essentials before you arrive. One other useful point for future guests is that bin day is Friday. The bins hadnt been put out when we arrived, and as we arrived too late to do it ourselves, they were already full, which was a little inconvenient. If this isnt already included in the guest guide, it would be helpful to mention putting the bins out on Thursday night. That way, you can also get rid of your rubbish before you leave. Overall, Hanbury Cottage is a lovely, spacious base for exploring the area, particularly if youre travelling with dogs, and we enjoyed our stay. Hide

Excellent for a family break. Spacious and flexible accommodation, fully equipped and well appointed, with a good-sized enclosed garden, kid and dog friendly, Parking for 3 cars (possibly 4).. Great pub with an unusually varied menu (traditional, Indian and Italian) only a few minute's walk away. Good walks from the house, and a wide variety of oRead morether attractions within easy driving distance. Owner provided clear and helpful information before we arrived, ensured that the property was kept as cool as possible in a very hot spell, and dropped by to welcome us soon after we reached the property - nice touches. So was the welcome cake. Thank you! Hide
