This exceptional complex of three converted barns sits high on a working farm with sweeping views across the Derbyshire hills. It is an idyllic setting for groups wanting to holiday together in style, offering flexible accommodation for up to 18 guests. You’re just 1 mile from the centre of Matlock, home to independent shops, cafes and restaurants, while Matlock Bath (2.5 miles) provides riverside promenades, cable cars and family attractions. Scenic trails from the doorstep lead to the dramatic Lumsdale Waterfalls and the historic village of Riber, and further afield you’ll find Chatsworth House (8 miles), Haddon Hall (7 miles) and the rugged landscapes of the Peak District National Park. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, planning a reunion or simply seeking space to relax together, this is a truly stunning base to create lasting memories with family and friends.

The three barns together can accommodate up to 18 people – ideally 12 adults and 2 children – with additional occasional sleeping for up to four guests on two double futons, at additional charge, bookable in advance. At the heart of the complex, the largest barn forms the natural gathering place for the whole group, with its generous open-plan living and dining area, complete with wood burner, 10-seater dining table and six-seater breakfast bar. A well-equipped kitchen makes catering for everyone simple, while a conservatory games room with pool and darts and a basement media room provide entertainment. Also on the ground floor is a king-size four-poster with en-suite shower room. Upstairs are two bedrooms: a double and a super-king-size family room with alcove bunk beds for two children. A family bathroom with bath and shower and a separate shower room complete the layout, while a mezzanine level offers occasional sleeping for four people on futons. Alongside the main barn are two smaller retreats. The middle barn sleeps four, with its own lounge and wood burner, a well-equipped kitchen and two bedrooms – one king-size and one twin – plus a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The smallest barn sleeps two, perfect for a couple or grandparents within the group, with a king-size bedroom and en-suite shower room, alongside its own snug lounge and kitchen. Together, the barns create the ideal combination: generous shared spaces for everyone to gather, complemented by cosy corners where smaller groups can retreat.

Outside, the barns share spectacular elevated views across rolling farmland. The main barn and middle barn both feature enclosed gardens, making them safe for children and dogs, while picnic benches, outdoor tables and a swing seat provide plenty of spots to relax in the fresh air. From the doorstep, scenic paths lead to nearby pubs and beauty spots, while the peaceful farm setting brings a gentle rhythm to your stay – quiet at weekends, with light weekday activity from 8am. Please note that cobbled paths, multiple staircases and a steep driveway mean the property is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
