We were honoured to be the first guests at Old Weavers. We were a little surprised to learn that it was a new venture for the owners because the cottage was so well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches, like a basket of delicious local goodies. We stayed during a very wet November and the cottage was really cosy. A fire was laid and ready and tRead morehere were blankets for snuggling up on the sofa. The cottage felt surprisingly spacious and has been beautifully decorated. The location was really peaceful, surrounded by fields and woods down a narrow driveway off a single-lane country road. You do need to navigate some narrow lanes to reach the cottage, but we managed fine in a large van. The cottage also has a lovely private garden, full of apple trees. Despite the wet week, we still managed to have afternoon tea on the patio listening to the birds. There are lots of footpaths near the cottage, but its also easy to drive to places like Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains, and Hereford. The farm shop at Longtown is full of lovely things. Wed love to come back to explore more of the area. Hide
