Brimming with character and comfort, this lovingly furnished, family-friendly getaway located in Milford on Sea offers the perfect base for discovering the beauty of the New Forest. The owner’s passion for the environment can be found in the paintings by local artists, and books about nature, sustainability, and creativity. The charming, traditional village of Milford on Sea boasts stunning sea views towards Christchurch Harbour and across to the Isle of Wight, as well as enchanting cliff-top walks and lovely beaches. Skim stones out to sea at the shingle Hordle Cliff Beach (1.5 miles), which is lined with colourful beach huts and benefits from breathtaking views across the Solent. Located at the seaward end of Hurst Spit, with spectacular views and plenty of open spaces for children to explore, Hurst Castle, a mile away, is a must-see for history lovers. The house is in an area of mixed housing but it was very quiet. Initial impressions were not great as the garden was a little overgrown and there were weeds in the drive. After a discussion the owner sent a gardener round to cut the back lawn which was a great improvement. The garden is lovely, backing onto fields and its very private but its notRead more secure for dogs. The playhouse was popular with our grand daughter but it would have benefited from a clean. We loved the hot tub and watching the prolific bird life. The main garden furniture was comfortable but the table and benches need attention. Internally the house was very good and well equipped. Its spacious and the lounge was comfortable and cool in the heat. There was ample cutlery etc. The toys were brilliant; the kitchen, Brio set, books and games were a huge hit with our grand daughter. The washing machine was useful. The main bedroom is large and very nice. The bed was comfortable and the en suite shower room spacious. We appreciated the bath for our grand daughter and also the fans as it was so hot while we were there. The house is close to lovely Milford town but the pavement outside always had cars parked on it so it meant pushing the pram in the road which wasnt ideal. Luckily the road was quiet. Its a five minute walk to shops, great bars snd pubs. We loved the wine bar on the green and the Italian restaurant. Our grand daughter loved the playground at the smugglers inn and also the one next to the needles cafe. The beach is about 15 minutes walk and we loved the lighthouse pub/restaurant. Hide

What a wonderful home, well equipped, spacious, cosy and close to all the amenities. We went out every day walking at the beach or in the forests there is loads to do on the doorstep, we had lunch in little cafes dotted everywhere and ate in restaurants each night was a lovely holiday. The Gun pub was our favourite, just up the road. Thank you so mRead moreuch Hide

This cottage was wonderful. The best place we have stayed in for young children. Everything we could want and more was here. Lots of toys to keep the kids entertained. Location was perfect. Cannot recommend highly enough. Be aware the garden is not enclosed (need to keep an eye on kids and dogs) but other than that fantastic place to stay in, thankRead more you! Hide
