Sitting in an area of outstanding beauty, and enjoying stunning elevated views, this lovely property is the perfect retreat for four people. With a blended offering of vibrant places and decadent walks from the front door, there is so much to explore on your doorstep such as Lea Rhododendron Gardens in springtime (1.1 miles), and the war memorial known as Crich Stand (3.5 miles). Just 3 miles away is the Great British Car Journey, where car lovers can explore the history of some of the greatest cars made, and on the same site, the White Peak Distillery offers pre-booked tasting experiences. Vibrant Matlock Bath, with its cable cars, lovers walk, arcades and Gulliver’s Kingdom is a little over 4 miles away. There are unique and independent shops just a little further down Dale Road into Matlock, and plenty of places to eat and enjoy. Beautiful walks are abundant in this area, from circular walks around Riber Castle, Lumsdale Valley Loop, or why not have a peaceful stroll by Cromford Canal.

They often say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and as you enter the kitchen and dining space, you will see that this is a wonderful space to gather. There are little nods to the history of the building, while still being a modern and comfortable bolthole. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of storage and a lovely island to create more worktop space. The living room is a beautifully light room, with the benefit of patio doors so you can fully appreciate the wonderful views that this property has. A wood burner makes for a cosy and ambient evening on cooler nights, and throughout the property there are lovely colour accents to compliment the fresh, Mediterranean style décor. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one offering a king-size bedroom and the other a double bed, both with handmade oak bed frames. The shower room completes the property. From the landing, you can see the childhood home of Florence Nightingale, and truly appreciate the wonderful setting that this lovely property sits in.

Outside on the patio, you can enjoy the scenic space, with an outside dining area providing the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, or relax after a day’s exploring. There is designated parking next to the property.

The cottage is very airy and spacious, plenty of room for 4 people with multiple seating options inside and out. The beds and sofas are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for eating in with plenty of fridge and separate freezer. The views from the majority of the windows of the old barn are spectacular across the valley. So beautiful anRead mored extremely peaceful. The cottage is within easy walking distance to a local pub Jug & Glass, butchers ( also stocks essentials ) and cafes, so ideal as there is no need to use the car all the time. Lovely cottage in quiet peaceful setting. Ideal for walkers, with walks in each direction, with plenty of paths to establish ones that suit you. Butchers shop in Holloway absolutely delightful and stocked with all food essentials. Cottage very clean and well appointed, and stocked with everything you would expect. The living room was cosy and comfortable and had amazing viewssome beautiful sunsets on an evening. A large basket of logs and lots of other useful essentials were supplied together with a welcome pack. There are lots of places nearby to visit so the location is ideal. Would definitely recommend this cottage for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Beautiful cottage with wonderful views. Very comfortably furnished and thoughtfully equipped for all your needs apart from a lack of wardrobes in the bedrooms. I would thoroughly recommend staying in this wonderful cottage.

Beautiful cottage with the most stunning views. The cottage has everything you need or could think of, really nicely decorated and very clean. Lots of great places to visit. Just to warn any future visitors, if you have a large car, there's quite a narrow driveway to get to your cottage, but great parking spot next to the cottage. The Old Barn is a superb cottage overlooking the Derbyshire hills. It has been lovingly restored and furnished. It had everything we could have wished for. The cottage was really clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic stay there and can't wait to book again.

A beautiful holiday cottage with outstanding views in a very quiet, peaceful location. There are no wardrobes but ample drawers. Really comfortable beds/pillows and large fluffy towels. Everything I can think of is supplied and so much more. If you forget to take something with you it will probably be there for you. Highly recommended.
