Escape with your loved ones to this picture-postcard period cottage that dates back to 1761. In the heart of Gowbarrow Fell, just 5 miles outside Pooley Bridge, and 1 mile to a village pub it’s a perfect bolthole to call home while you discover the wild beauty of the Lake District. Enjoy a 3.5-mile hike to the magnificent Aira Force waterfall, a spectacular cascade that plunges 65 feet, or drive to the charming village of Pooley Bridge (5 miles) for river walks, local shops, and cosy teahouses. Alternatively, head into Glenridding (5.5 miles), a hub for outdoor adventurers, where you can hire a kayak or hop aboard a classic Ullswater Steamer. Head into Penrith (11 miles) to channel your inner artist at the Crafty Monkeys pottery studio, or check out the work of local artisans at the Rheged Centre – an impressive cultural hub located in Britain’s largest grass-covered building. Arriving by train than Penrith Station is very convenient to the property.

Step inside this beautiful heritage cottage. You’ll be welcomed by an inviting hall that leads into a sleek open-plan kitchen and dining area where majestic views of Mell Fell and Blencathra through the impressive floor-to-ceiling windows create the perfect backdrop for unforgettable dinners with your loved ones. Head to the cosy lounge and you’ll discover a beautiful space that showcases its original exposed beams, a crackling wood burner and a classic piano. If you’re yearning for a little quiet time, check out the elegant study – a serene spot where you can curl up with your favourite book. At the end of the day, two staircases lead you to the bedrooms. One staircase leads to a stylish king-size bedroom, a pretty twin bedroom, and a family bathroom with a shower over a bath. The second staircase leads to another king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with bath; as well as a super king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a shower over bath.

Step outside and you’ll find a beautiful enclosed garden with a patio with seating – the perfect place to enjoy the stunning views over the sloping lawn towards the surrounding fells. Park your car in your own private spot (there’s room for three cars).
