Guests can stroll to Warkworth Castle and the medieval church, hop on a boat to explore a hidden chapel, or amble to the sandy beach, located under a mile away. Discover succulent seafood shacks and colourful huts at Amble’s inviting harbour (2 miles) or walk along the coast path to Alnmouth (4 miles) to explore the beach and estuary. Head to Alnwick (7 miles) to visit the castle and gardens and browse the treasure-laden bookshelves of Barter Books.

Step into this elegant cottage, where characterful fireplaces and carefully chosen period furnishings create a welcoming sense of old-world charm. To the right, a small snug invites a moment of peace with a Smart TV and selection of books and board games. Across the hallway, the lounge provides the ideal spot to gather, with several leather sofas and another Smart TV. When tummies rumble, head into the kitchen/diner, either from the hall or directly from the lounge, where the country-style kitchen and farmhouse dining table invite lively meals in the glow of the wood burner. The ground floor is completed by a shower room, while upstairs four bedrooms accommodate up to seven guests. Choose between a spacious king-size, a double bedroom overlooking the garden, a twin room and a cosy single. The first floor is completed by a well-appointed family bathroom.

Enjoy lazy summer afternoons lounging outside in the secluded, south-facing courtyard, or head to the garden room for a game of table tennis or darts. Unallocated parking is available in the village square or by the river, both within 100 metres.

The property wasnt as clean as wed hoped. The grill pan was left dirty in the oven. The kitchen floor wasnt very clean. We had to wash absolutely everything we wanted to use. There was no kitchen cleaning products other than Fairy. Not a patch on the Coquet cottages weve stayed in before. I felt the house had a sad air about it and it felt cold andRead more unwelcoming. It needs a face lift especially the kitchen. I get that its an old house, which Id normally love but it wasnt welcoming. Issues with electrics, lights not working, one lamp was sparking. Shower upstairs is awkward to use. If you dont hold the shower head, water goes everywhere. A simple fix of a rise and fall rail would fix that. Small room downstairs felt like a dentist waiting room for children (small chairs) we didnt use this. Impossible to sit outside due to the vent from the restaurant next door pointing into the courtyard. Not sure why its aimed that way but greasy animal smell most of the day. The games room was disappointing- its a garage/store room. To play darts you had to fold the table tennis table up so you couldnt do both. Weve stayed in lots of Coquet cottages over the past ten or so years and never had one negative thing to say. The nail sticking out of the wooden floor near the door in the main bedroom needs sorting out. Coupe of positives , the owner knowing we were vegan did make a big effort with snacks. so thank you for that. Great location. Id worried about this property and made contact with Holiday Cottages who assured me it would be clean. Hide

Excellent location, lovely big house plenty of space and very clean. Secure back courtyard was great for the dogs. Old stone property which felt cold initially.

No bad but definitely not to Coquet standards ( we are regulars ). I suggest changing the cleaners. Pam was fine shes just been let down by her staff & installers My son in law is a plumber, was there, and could offer advice if required.

Warkworth village is a really beautiful place to stay and we all had a great week. Lots to do without driving too far and plenty of footpaths especially to Warkworth beach. The property itself was spacious and had character. With it being right on the roadside we hadnt bargained for the amount of traffic which passes by day and night. The bedrooms Read moreare lovely and clearly the downstairs bathroom has been recently done. However the kitchen was not that clean. One drawer was broken and some essentials missing. The garden is a bit overgrown and the outdoor sofa was collapsing badly at one end. There is also a vent from the next door restaurant which faces the courtyard and the smell of cooking is constant. We would come back to the area definitely as we had a great stay. Hide

Fantastic location in the village ! Great place for a family gathering with a large table in the kitchen. The courtyard is such a lovely sunny space and we had the added bonus of watching ducklings who were in the garden ! We would definitely book the place again

Comfortable house in a fantastic location for beach, river walks and pubs. The property was not up to the usual high standard of Coquet cottages and could benefit from a general upgrade
