Overlooking the centre of lovely Warkworth village, this first-floor holiday escape is ideal for one or two couples or a small family, and is pet friendly. You’ll find pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants within metres of the front door, and you can explore the majestic, ruined castle or stroll 1 mile to the long, sandy beach – perfect for exhilarating walks in the fresh Northumberland air. From Amble, less than 2 miles away, you can take a boat trip to see puffins and other wildlife, while Alnwick Castle is just 7.5 miles away. Alnmouth (5 miles), has a golf club, more beaches, arty shops and friendly pubs. Try some water sports or go for a bike ride at Duridge Bay Country Park (4.5 miles), or venture further afield and visit quaint coastal villages, including Beadnell, Embleton, Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh, all within 25 miles.

Find your front door within the pretty courtyard of four other apartments, and head straight up the wide staircase, elegantly decorated with interesting artworks and an oak handrail. Inside the main apartment there’s an entrance lobby, with room for coats and footwear, from which you’ll step into the beautiful, open-plan living space. This stunning room has been thoughtfully decorated with exceptional flair and a focus on luxury and comfort, and includes a pair of sofas, a Smart TV and a built-in, modern, flame-effect electric fire. Gorgeous light fittings and shelves with ornaments add to the home-from-home feel, and there’s a selection of board games for you to enjoy. The handsome kitchen, with white quartz worktops, provides everything the chef of the holiday could want. Dine either at the breakfast bar with its two comfortable stools or at the dining table where there’s room for four, enjoying the view down the lane towards the river. Along the hall, the two bedrooms are just as impressive as the rest of the apartment, both including luxury bed linen, a hanging rail and dressing table. The super-king-size room features a bijou en-suite shower room, and boasts views of the centre of Warkworth. A family bathroom, with a rainfall shower over a full-size bath and plenty of storage, completes this stylish interior.

While there is no dedicated outside space for this high-quality cottage, the river is less than 100 metres away, a tranquil spot for relaxing with a morning coffee or a sundowner. When arriving, you can drive down the lane to unload, then park on the riverbank or in the village square. All parking in Warkworth is free.

This is a beautiful apartment centrally located in the stunning village of Warkworth. From here it is possible to walk to the beach, along the riverside, to the castle or to any number of shops, pubs and restaurants. We had a very comfortable stay here and found all the fittings and furniture to be of the highest standard. There is some noise from Read morethe road but that is compensated for by the location. From Warkworth it is easy to reach many other attractions in this beautiful county. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hide

Superb stay. Flat was spacious, modern, clean and equipped with everything we needed. It was cosy, a wonderful place to retire to in the evening after a day out. And the central location was a great advantage.

Our stay at Pelican Loft was our second visit to Warkworth this year! We visited in May and were so taken with the village and area that we returned with our pals. As there were four of us we needed a two bedroom apartment and again booked through Coquet Cottages. The apartment is very well located, parking is plentiful and the pubs and restaurantsRead more offer wonderful choices. We also like Warkworth because it is a great location from which to explore. There are NT properties within easy driving as well as stunning beaches and coastal walks. Amble to the south and Alnmouth to the north are very short drives away. We look forward to our next trip north! Hide

I've lost count of my visits, which is testament to how fab the apartment and position is. Every set of friends I've visited with are blown away by it's classiest, yet still warm and cozy. Whilst it's set on the main street there is no noise whatsoever. The owners constantly update and make welcome additions. All Coquete properties are a class abovRead moree the rest, but Pelican Loft is definitely up there with the best. 10 mins walk to the beach, 1 minute to the river, great for evening picnics, 25 mins to Amble. 1 minute to pubs and restaurants. What's not to love. Already looking forward to my December visit, with yet another set of friends who I'm sure will love it Big shout out to the lovely friendly, professional, helpful staff at Coquete, youre just tye best Hide

We had a lovely week in this luxurious, well equipped homely flat. It was a great base from which to explore the local area and the start of many walks. The location in the village centre was hand for the pubs, cafe and beach was only 15 minutes walk away. The welcome hamper was lovely and the flat made our holiday in Warkworth.

The decor is absolutely beautiful and the owners have met every possible requirement in providing a luxurious holiday home. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was exquisitely laundered which created total delight. Plenty of hangers and good quality toiletries, hairdryer, plenty of dishwasher etc tablets showed such attention to detRead moreail so we could properly relax and not have to shop for the boring things which are often skimped on in our experience, and can spoil the holiday. The kitchen is very well equipped too although being almost next door to a great pub - and plenty of local choice - we didnt need to cook, but its great to have plenty of mugs, glasses etc and not just a set of four. Overall a wonderful property, obviously owned by someone with great taste and generosity of spirit towards their guests. Highly recommended. Hide
