An inviting, village retreat, this welcoming cottage is perfect for couples and small families. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom, dog-friendly holiday home is within 0.5 miles of the harbour, with its seal and seabird cruises to the spectacular Farne Islands. Find yourselves the same distance from the gently sloping beach, where pets can join you all year round. Stroll three miles northwards along the coastal path from here to Bamburgh, where you can visit the striking castle, bustling village and glorious beach. Pick up the Northumberland Coast Path to the south to walk to beautiful Beadnell Bay, just over 2.5 miles. Here, the beach is popular with paddlers, picnickers, and water sports enthusiasts. Plan a day out to historic Alnwick, 14.5 miles away, with its splendid castle that was famously the backdrop to scenes in the Harry Potter films, or historic Berwick-upon-Tweed, 22 miles away, just 2.5 miles from the border with Scotland.

Make your way inside the cottage, which sits comfortably in its corner plot. Leave your sandals or walking boots by the front door and wander along the hallway, where there is a handy downstairs WC, then on to the main living space, with a ligt and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The stylish living area has been furnished to ensure you have ample space to spread out and unwind with your nearest and dearest. Featuring natural shades and coastal tones, this is a warm and welcoming space to relax. Sink back into the plump sofas after placing your coffee cups on the eye-catching driftwood table. Watch the Smart TV or plan your days out with the wood-burner-effect electric fire glowing cosily during the colder months. Wander over to the kitchen/diner to make drinks and snacks, as well as hearty family meals. With light cabinets and work surfaces, this contemporary space is the perfect place to cook, dine, and celebrate together. The back door opens to the garden for fine afternoons. As the sun goes down on each memorable day holidaying in Northumberland, climb the stairs to your bedrooms for a great night's sleep. Here you have an inviting super-king-size bedroom and two lovely doubles, all beautifully decorated and ideal for a family or couples on holiday together. The family bathroom and the second separate WC are also on this floor.

The enclosed, private courtyard garden here will be something of an oasis for you and your family and friends during the summer months. Head outdoors with a cold drink to read your books in the sunshine. Recline on the rattan sofa as night falls, and chat together over a bottle of wine. Guests will receive a permit for one car in the main Seahouses car park; further spaces are available at a charge.

The cottage was nice, but it was supposed to be a relaxing holiday, no heating or hot water until the day before we left

Big drawback was that there was no parking by the property, the car had to go on the long stay parking in the town. A permit was provided but it was not convenient and even loading and unloading was difficult given all the No Parking signs displayed by residents.
