Set in the charming village of Calver, this welcoming cottage offers an ideal base for families and groups of friends exploring the Peak District together. Just 3 miles from the riverside town of Bakewell, guests can enjoy traditional markets, independent shops, and the famous Bakewell pudding. Historic Chatsworth House and Gardens sits less than 4 miles away, offering a grand day out surrounded by heritage and beauty. For walkers, the property is only 2 miles from the start of the Curbar Edge trails, where sweeping views across the Hope Valley await. Hathersage, with its outdoor swimming pool and links to Robin Hood legends, lies just 5 miles away, while the pretty village of Eyam is just over 2 miles. With scenic paths, cosy pubs, and dramatic landscapes all within easy reach, this location blends scenic tranquillity with adventure.

Tucked peacefully behind other cottages, this delightful retreat enjoys far-reaching countryside views and a real sense of calm. Step inside to a welcoming dining room where exposed beams and original features create character and warmth. A roaring wood burner sits at the heart of the cottage, shared between the dining room and lounge, making both spaces cosy and inviting. The lounge has comfortable sofas, a Smart TV to catch up on favourite programmes, and dual aspect windows creating a light and airy space. The well-appointed kitchen provides everything you need for holiday cooking, whether you are preparing a hearty breakfast before a walk or enjoying a relaxed evening meal together. Two steep staircases with rope bannisters lead up to three beautifully finished bedrooms: a king-size room and a cosy single on one level, and a double tucked away at the top of the house, with each room boasting its own character and sense of privacy. Two bathrooms serve the property, one with a free-standing bath for indulgent soaks and another with a shower for convenience.

Outside, the courtyard offers a peaceful spot to sit and take in the views, with a bench perfect for morning coffee or evening tipples. A outhouse available to be used for hanging up coats and wellie boots and toweling off dogs. It has a heated floor for this purpose, and coat hooks and a bench seat.

On street parking available on the road to the front and nearby in the village.

the property is very attractive and in a lovely quiet location with a pleasant aspect. However the layout needs to be made clear. The stairs are narrow and steep and the 2 bathrooms and loos are in the corridor between the main and single bedroom. The top bedroom is up very steep stairs and is pretty unusable if you are not young. The house is pRead moreoorly equipped, extremely bad lighting and I would not recommend Hide

The cottage is tucked away behind another property and a little hard to find but it has wonderful views from most windows. It was very comfortable and very nicely decorated. The only problem were the stairs both to the 1st and even more so, the 2nd floor. They were quite steep and tight and the owners had put boat like ropes to help you up but yRead moreou have to be very careful. Hide

The property is located in a lovely area, with a shop and some dog friendly cafes and pubs within walking distance. The garden was secure enough for our well behaved small dog, but a larger dog may be able to jump the garden wall should they dare. As noted on the listing, it's certainly not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. As four fairly hRead moreealthy and mobile 30 year olds, the stairs were not easy! With a few additional homely touches, the stay could be even more comfortable. Overall, a lovely location with great local amenities. Hide

We came in on a cold night in February and felt at home immediately as it was heated up already! It felt cosy and warm. A charming, tastefully decorated cottage and above all beautifully restored. The views from the terrace (the next morning) are stunning. The ideal place to spend time visiting the Peak district!

This cottage is beautifully finished and has been perfect for our family break with 1 medium sized dog. The cottage is well located in the village with two good pubs (dog friendly) and a village shop (well equipped) within walking distance. There a fantastic walk Calver to Froggatt circular within 10 mins walk of the cottage, it took us about 2Read morehr and we stopped for lunch at the Bridge Inn, also dog friendly. Many great places are within 30mins of Calver including Chatsworth House, Mam Tor, Castleton, Bakewell, Matlock and there are loads of dog friendly walks. The boot room and access to water hose was perfect for washing mucky paws and boots off. Lovely touch providing dog bed in the nook under the stair. Would definitely visit again. Hide
