Situated along the North Wales coastline between the town of Abergele (1.2 miles) and LLanddulas village (1 mile), this romantic retreat offers traditional features, a magical escape. Lovingly restored by the owners, this Grade II* listed tower, built circa 1800s into the original curtain wall of Gwrych Castle, overlooks 500-year-old Hen Wrych Hall, once home to the poet Felicia Hemans. The beach at Abergele Cove is across the road; the perfect spot for romantic walks as the sun sets. Ideally situated for sightseeing, Bodnant Gardens, historic Conwy, a World Heritage Site with its medieval castle, plus several castles, and the pretty Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno, are easily accessible. Find cosy pubs and handy shops in Abergele (1.5 miles) with a golf course, local woods and hills nearby. Visit the rolling countryside, the Clwydian Range AONB (15 miles), and the dramatic peaks of Snowdonia (24 miles from home).

Step inside this unique and charming property, offering an intimate and romantic hideaway. Set over three floors, you are immediately welcomed into the ground-floor living area with exposed stone walls and a beamed ceiling. This cosy living area provides a delightful space for relaxing, and a wood-burning stove will be a pleasure to return to in the winter months after a busy day's sightseeing. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. Climb the hand-carved, mahogany staircase to the first floor, where you’ll find a remarkable bathroom with a sumptuously deep slipper bath with a shower over, and an original Thomas Crapper toilet cistern. When it’s time for bed, climb to the top of the tower on the third floor and experience opulence at its finest. Slip into the grand Elizabethan-style, king-size four-poster bed, richly carved and full of character—an ideal setting for a romantic retreat.

Outside, you will find a quaint garden, lined with mature shrubbery and stone features. There is a bistro table and chairs out here too, so you can sit and dine alfresco or enjoy an evening tipple. One private car parking space is available.

What a unique, special place to stay. The property exceeded our expectations and was the perfect place for a short getaway. We really felt like Lord and Lady of the Manor, the facilities and attention to detail throughout the property were fantastic and we loved our stay, thankyou. The only regret being we didn't book for longer!

I had a great weekend stay and everything I needed. If you want something a little different then this is the stay for you. A great building with plenty of character. Ideal for couples that may want to get away but not to far from anything you may need. David was very helpful and a great knowledge of the area.
