If you're basing yourself in Burghclere, you'll find plenty to keep everyone happy without having to travel far. Highclere Castle is just up the road (2.5 miles), and it's a real treat to wander through the state rooms where the Crawley family's story was filmed in Downton Abbey. Set off on a walking adventure with the Wayfarer's Walk (8 miles) that inclines up Beacon Hill and offers picturesque views across the North Wessex Downs. It's every bit worth the climb. Families often love a trip to the Living Rainforest (12 miles) near Newbury with its wonderful butterflies and reptiles. If you fancy venturing further, you're also on the edge of the Cotswolds, so honey-coloured villages with quaint cafes and spectacular countryside are within reach.

Step through the door of this attractive holiday escape and you’ll notice the thoughtful rustic décor and charming original features. Blending luxurious furnishings with exposed beams, this modern home presents the perfect place to relax after wild adventures. Put your feet up in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner while snuggling in front of the bioethanol fireplace, and channel flicking through the Smart TV. The modern kitchen is fitted with group facilities, while the table for six provides an excellent spot for catching up with friends and tucking into tasty lunches. As the evening draws in, choose from three stylish bedrooms across two floors. A double bedroom with an en-suite shower room sits on the ground floor, while upstairs, a twin room and another double bedroom offer space for the group to spread out. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC sits on the ground floor.

In the morning, enjoy basking in the sun's rays in the enclosed garden. The patio area is equipped with a BBQ and dining area for al fresco dishes.
