From the back door, explore the beautiful fells of the national park, including Black Crag, or head out on two wheels to Grizedale Forest (1 mile) for mountain biking opportunities. Walk less than 2 miles to the National Trust’s Tarn Hows, with its woodland walks and waterfalls. Venture 3 miles to Coniston Water to board a steam yacht gondola out on the water. While away an afternoon in Ambleside, 4 miles away, meandering through the shops and pausing for tea in a cafe. From here, make your way just over 0.5 miles to take a cruise on Windermere, England’s largest lake.
