Offering fabulous accommodation for up to nine guests, this truly spectacular country house makes a wonderful holiday retreat for larger families and groups of friends enjoying a reunion or get-together. The property lies in a secluded spot just a mile from both the impressive Cannington Viaduct and the picturesque village of Uplyme, which has a friendly pub and charming tearoom. Heading towards the idyllic Dorset coast, the historic town of Lyme Regis (2 miles) is known for its pretty beach, bustling seafront and rich fossil-finding heritage. Popular attractions in the town include Dinosaurland Fossil Museum, the Cobb, the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium, and The Town Mill. Just outside the town, golfers can head to the Lyme Regis Golf Club (3 miles). A little further afield are Coney’s Castle, the Symondsbury Estate, Colmer's Hill and Forde Abbey and Gardens, all within 12 miles. Closet beaches are Lyme Regis, Beer and Branscombe, all within 6 miles.

A quarter-mile driveway leads to the property, where you will be welcomed by the grand and spacious entrance hallway. This leads through to a gorgeous lounge with sumptuous seating, a Smart TV, a cosy wood burner and magnificent views. Next to the lounge is a delightful snug/library (again with stunning views), offering extra space for anyone wanting to get away and curl up with a good book. This wing of the house also has a fully equipped and elegantly organised kitchen/dining room. Exploring the ground floor further, there’s a boot room, a WC and a utility room, as well as a games room with a Smart TV and pool table, perfect for more competitive guests. On the first floor, there’s the refreshing main bathroom and the first four bedrooms: a sweet single room, two cheerful twins and a relaxing double with an en-suite shower room and its own balcony with distant sea views. Heading up the steep wooden staircase to the second floor, you will find the final bedroom, a lovely double with built-in wardrobes, a vaulted ceiling, large picture windows, an en-suite bathroom and doors leading onto a cheerful sun-drenched balcony. Please note: there are no blinds or curtains in this room.

Heading outside, the generous gardens are mainly laid to lawn, with a range of sunny patios and quiet seating areas, on different levels, offering superb country views. There’s also a wonderful heated swimming pool and a sweet summer house. Ample off-road parking is available for at least five cars. Please note the garden has some drops in height, and guests are not permitted in the woods. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult when swimming in the pool and near the open pond.

Beautiful, outstanding gardens and pool area. Pool is bigger than it looks in photographs. We had a lovely time. Bring garden umbrella shades etc as not provided. The steps from house down to pool and garden might not be good for all ages. I would book again. Outstanding!!

This is a beautiful mini mansion with lots of space for our party of 6, over three generations, and allowed everyone to have their own space. We all enjoyed our week at Deepcombe House and Lyme Regis.
