Explore Devon’s exceptional coast and countryside with a stay in this charming, picturesque property a family friendly retreat nestled just two miles from the sea. Perfectly positioned for outdoor enthusiasts, you are only two miles from the rugged South West Coast Path, where you can follow the cliff-tops toward the Cornish border or wander down to Peppercombe Beach to spot resident seals and dolphins from the shingle shore. For a true taste of North Devon’s heritage, the famous cobbles of Clovelly are a scenic 15-minute drive (8 miles) away, while the golden sands and surfing waves of Westward Ho! sit just 6 miles from your door. You can also spend a lazy afternoon exploring the twin villages of Appledore and Instow, which are connected by a seasonal passenger ferry across the estuary. If you are travelling with little ones, a world of adventure awaits nearby at the North Devon Wake Park, The Big Sheep, and The Milky Way Adventure Park, ensuring there is plenty of fun for the whole family within easy reach.

Whitewashed stone walls, original beams and classic farmhouse charm make this cottage a warm and inviting place to call your own. Step into the longhouse-style lounge/diner, where two distinct areas are separated by a small flight of steps. The lounge is warm and cosy, with comfy seating arranged around a Smart TV and wood burner for restful evenings in. Just up a few steps, the sturdy wooden dining table features bench-style seating – perfect for family mealtimes. Head down to the lower ground floor to find the kitchen, a handy space equipped with all the necessary appliances, including a washing machine, and a utility room opposite the house with a tumble dryer for added convenience. When the day’s adventures are done, retreat upstairs to three bedrooms on the first floor. The largest is a master king-size bedroom, while the smaller two are arranged as a bunk room and a cosy single. All three rooms share a modern family bathroom with a bath and shower for your choice of a soak or rinse.

Step outside to enjoy the pretty scenery of the private garden at the side of the property. Although attached to the owner’s home, care has been taken to ensure your privacy in the furnished patio, lawn area, and inviting hot tub. You’ll also have access to a separate games barn, designed for all ages – a dedicated hangout space for children, teens, and adults alike, with a plush L-shaped sofa, Smart TV, selection of games, a pool table, and a darts board. Private parking for two cars is also provided.

Wildlife lovers will enjoy the surrounding fields, where deer, pheasants, and rabbits can often be seen, and you may even spot the occasional peacock wandering nearby. We had a superb few days at Glendale Cottage. So tranquil. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into making sure you have everything you need. The games room and snug in the cow shed are a great touch and very popular with our teens! Lovely big dining table and comfy lounge with a log burner made our February break very cosy. Also within eaRead moresy reach of lots of local attractions. Hide

Lovely cottage and grounds. Spotlessly clean. Every kitchen utensil you would need and all seem to be new.
