With ample space for up to four guests, this fresh and delightfully updated holiday cottage makes a fantastic hideaway for walkers, water sports enthusiasts and beach lovers exploring an idyllic stretch of the magical Northumberland coastline. The property lies at the heart of Amble, a cheerful coastal village with a host of seafood restaurants, two sandy beaches, and a harbour offering boat trips out to Coquet Island, home to a vast colony of puffins and other birdlife. The village is also known for its annual Puffin Festival, its brightly coloured beach huts and a thriving high street. Heading north along the River Coquet, the historic village of Warkworth (2 miles) is famous for its medieval castle. Exploring this stunning part of Northumberland further, popular attractions include Druridge Bay Country Park, Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre, The Alnwick Garden and Castle, Northumberland Zoo, and Brinkburn Priory and Manor House, all within 16 miles.

Entering this warm and cosy property, the hallway leads through to a pretty lounge with a Smart TV, comfortable seating and a central wood burner set in a handsome stone surround. From here, move into the fresh and thoughtfully organised kitchen/diner, fully equipped with plenty of storage and workspace, and a characterful dining table for mealtimes. Heading up the stairs, you’ll spot the unique bannister made from a pair of boat oars, adding another individual touch to the overall charm of the property. The first floor features a refreshing, stylishly tiled bathroom and two calm, tastefully decorated bedrooms. The first is a spacious king-size room with ample storage, additional seating and a handy en-suite shower room. A couple of steps lead down from the landing to the lovely twin room with wooden panelling and further storage space.

From the kitchen, patio doors lead out into a cheery, enclosed courtyard with garden furniture, offering a quiet spot for a morning coffee and alfresco dining. There is a secure bike store for up to 2 bikes and an outside tap for washing bikes or dogs after playing on the beach (drying towels supplied for pooches too). To the front of the property, there’s a large village green just across the road. On-street parking is available outside the property on a private road, subject to availability, with additional parking on nearby street, subject to availability.

Had to move two heavy sofas to be able to watch the TV. Poor standard of cleanliness in bathrooms and fridge. Tissue paper stuffed into rear door vents. This was a good, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a terrific location. We only used the car once in the week we stayed - handy for beach and town.

Great location and spacious, homely accommodation. A nice welcome of Prosecco and biscuits. Parking opposite was always easy. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas. Located a short walk to the harbour and short drive to Amble Links beach. A great base to explore the area.
