This delightful bungalow is the ideal choice for couples, friends, or small families looking for a peaceful retreat or a base for exploring the unspoilt Berwyn Mountains. Walkers, cyclists, mountain bikers and horse riders will find hundreds of miles of footpaths, bridleways, trails, and mountain passes – with stunning scenery around every corner. Less than 0.5 miles away is a welcoming pub in Pen y Bont Fawr, which serves food and real ales. Just 2 miles away, there are more shops and places to eat in Llanrhaedr-ym-Mochant. The Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) is about 8 miles west, with Bala, a centre for outdoor activities, 16 miles. Closer to home, Lake Vyrnwy is only 8.5 miles away, where you can stroll peacefully around the lake while spotting wildlife. The incredible Pistyll Rhaedr Waterfall is another must-see, just 6 miles away, while the charming market town of Oswestry is just 15 miles away.

Set all on one level, this rural escape is practical and convenient, and has a charming style with soft, neutral colours and traditional furnishings. From the central hall, step into the light-filled lounge/diner, where you’ll find comfortable seating and a Smart TV – perfect for cosy evenings at home, especially in the cooler months, when you can throw a log on the wood burner for a warming glow. Equip yourself with a cup of coffee (or maybe a glass of something stronger) and a good book, and the sun room is the most delightful place to be, with stunning views of rolling fields and mountains. The spacious kitchen contains everything the chef of the holiday will need, including a dishwasher to help with the cleaning up. At the far end of this room, you’ll find the utility area with a handy pantry cupboard as well as the washing machine. Both bedrooms have the same sweet style and soft colours as the rest of the house, and boast lovely rural views. The shower room with its double cubicle is a refreshing space in which to start your day, and there’s also an additional adjacent WC.

A beautiful garden runs the length of the house, comprising a well-maintained, sloping lawn and, raised above it, a patio edged with shrubs and flowers. This sun-trap space is an irresistible spot for an al fresco drink or meal as you admire the views. A large garage at the rear of the property ensures secure storage for bikes and outdoor equipment. There is private parking for three cars on the sloping driveway, with further parking available to the rear and side of the property.

Great location, visiting Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall is a must. This old fashioned bungalow offers the basics for what you need for a comfortable break away. Welcoming hosts with homemade scones on arrival!

The cottage was very homely and comfortable, with everything we needed. The owner was very welcoming. The heating in the cottage was excellent, so a good place to be, even for a winter break. The cottage is well placed for exploring the area, and the local pub was within walking distance, and a good place for a meal. Would definitely recommend.

Great little cottage with all creature comforts, easily accessible and yet rural. It's near a pub if you're thirsty and they do serve food too however the night we wanted to they were fully booked - seems it's well liked by the locals. A small little convenience store and post office too within walking distance.
