Tucked just off one of Whitby’s main streets in the heart of town, this charming three-storey terraced cottage is a peaceful hideaway that’s still within reach of everything you need during your stay. It’s ideal for couples or a small family getaway, and surrounded by independent shops, cafés and restaurants, all within 0.5 miles. You’re perfectly placed to explore the atmospheric streets of this gothic harbour town, from the cobbled old town to the famous 199 steps that lead up to Whitby Abbey – worth every stride for the views alone. If you’re in the mood for the sea, hop aboard a boat trip from the harbour and keep an eye out for dolphins, seals or even whales if you’re lucky. Scenic spots like Robin Hood’s Bay (5.5 miles) and Runswick Bay (8.5 miles) are close by, or head to Scarborough for a classic seaside day out.
On arrival, you’ll climb six steps up to the front door before stepping straight into the inviting lounge, a lovely space complete with comfy seating and a Smart TV – lovely for cosy evenings in after a day by the sea. Wooden furniture and doors throughout create an elegant and homely feel. Head downstairs to the lower ground floor, where you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with pretty units and everything you need for meal prep. This level also houses the bathroom, featuring a P-shaped bath with shower over and a WC. Upstairs, both bedrooms have double beds and lovely views of Whitby’s iconic Abbey ruins and the East Cliff. This enchanting retreat is actually named after the bird formations which you can see from the windows when looking out towards Whitby Abbey.
Through the kitchen you’ll have access to a small shared courtyard, perfect for your morning coffee. A parking permit for one car is included for on-street parking nearby.
