Property code: OC-D32862

This welcoming holiday home sits within the attractive grounds of Ingmire Hall, on the outskirts of Sedbergh in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The property, which is arranged across three floors, sleeps six guests and makes the ideal base for both families and groups of friends. Sedbergh (1.5 miles) is a traditional, stone-built market town with an olde-worlde charm. Wander along its cobbled streets, popping into the independent shops and numerous bookstores, before refuelling in one of the quaint tea rooms or cosy pubs. The town sits in the foothills of the Howgill Hills – a paradise for keen walkers – and is also within easy reach of long-distance trails such as the Dales Way and Pennine Way. Day trips from the cottage include the picture-postcard village of Dent (7 miles), along with Lake District highlights such as Lake Windermere and Grizedale Forest (both within 30 miles).

The stone cottage still retains many of its original features, including stone flooring and beamed ceilings. The decor is traditional and complements the period of the property. On the ground floor you’ll find a welcoming lounge with wooden floors and an array of comfortable seating set around an ornamental fireplace and a Smart TV. This room also has a quiet reading nook for curling up with a good book. Double doors from the lounge lead through to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner (down a step), where you’ll find everything needed to rustle up hearty feasts for the group. Next to the window is a large, wooden dining table for hosting dinner parties and special occasions. A handy utility room completes the ground floor. Heading upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await. Choose from a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room or a king size that can be made up as a twin on request. A family bathroom rounds off this level. The remaining bedroom, a twin, is located on the top floor under a sloping ceiling and has its own, separate shower room.

Outside is a small patio garden with outdoor furniture – a delightful spot for a morning coffee as you plan the day’s activities. The property has private parking.
