This handsome holiday escape, a perfect choice for couples, friends and small families, is set in the tranquil village of Brauncewell, 5.5 miles from Sleaford, where you’ll find a selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. Anyone interested in aviation history will find plenty of fascinating places to visit in the area, including Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum, 5 miles, and Newark Air Museum, 17 miles. There are walking and cycling routes galore, and the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds is 27 miles away. The National Trust’s Tattershall Castle, a magnificent example of English 15th century brickwork, is just 13 miles, while the extraordinary Lincoln Cathedral is 14.5 miles. For the little ones, how about a trip to ARK wildlife and Dinosaur Park, 23 miles, or Lincoln Zoo, 20 miles?

The property has been carefully converted from the former blacksmith’s shop, and boasts traditional features such as rugged beams, areas of low ceiling, and exposed stone, combined with an array of modern amenities. After you’ve admired the beauty of the cottage’s exterior, with its stonework and red-tiled roof, head inside and stroll from the hall through to the kitchen/diner. Here you’ll find all the equipment you’ll need for preparing holiday feasts, including a microwave and fridge/freezer, with a coffee pod machine for morning wake-ups. There’s a washing machine in here, too, and a dining table that seats four comfortably. The room flows through to the delightful lounge (up one step), a tranquil space with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV. For a breath of fresh air, throw open the double doors which lead to the garden and enjoy a blissful evening of relaxation. When you’re ready for bed, the unique spiral staircase takes you to the first floor, where there are two charming bedrooms, with beautiful linens and art works, which can be set up as either super-king-size or twins. The main bedroom has the luxuries of a Juliet balcony and an en-suite shower room, and there’s a separate shower room for the occupants of the second bedroom.

The spacious garden is another superb benefit for your special getaway, bound to be a hit with anyone who loves outdoor cooking or dining. The outdoor kitchen includes both a BBQ and a pizza oven, with a dining area on the patio where everyone can socialise, and there’s also a lawned area where children can play or dogs can be walked on a lead.

A lovely cottage that is in a very quiet location. It is well equipped and in a good position for trips into Lincoln and the coast. Would recommend.
