A particular favourite is the trail to the summit of Brent Knoll, where the panoramic views across the Somerset countryside towards the Bristol Channel are spectacular. You can also enjoy the tracks and trails of the Mendip Hills and Quantock Hills, both within 20 miles. The cottage is also perfectly placed for keen golfers, with several scenic courses nearby including Burnham and Berrow and Isle of Wedmore. Visit excellent attractions within reach of the cottage, such as Cheddar Gorge (9.5 miles), with its clifftop walks and caves, and the fun, family favourite of Wookey Hole (15 miles). Also, head to the seaside resorts of Brean, Burnham-on-Sea, or Weston-Super-Mare, all within 10 miles.
The detached, early 19th-century cottage has been sympathetically renovated, carefully preserving many of its characterful original features. Enter the cottage into the hallway, where you can store all your outdoor gear, before moving through to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with its striking tiled floor and exposed brickwork. The handmade kitchen, crafted from reclaimed pine, is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering break and features an extending wooden table that can seat up to six diners. After dinner, move through to the inviting lounge, where a cosy wood burner is nestled in an original inglenook fireplace. This room has ample comfortable seating for everyone to spread out and relax, as well as a Smart TV for enjoying movie nights together. Upstairs, two tastefully decorated king-size bedrooms await, both with sumptuous linens and plenty of storage for all your holiday attire. A sleek shower room with fabulous Italian marble tiles rounds off this country bolthole.
Outside, the enclosed, Mediterranean-style courtyard is a real suntrap and is the perfect spot for an al fresco breakfast to set you up for the day. There is also a pretty garden to the front of the cottage with a lawn area and an array of beautiful flowers.
