Set by the River Fowey in the ancient town of Lostwithiel, this romantic retreat is the ideal Cornish getaway for a solo explorer or a couple. Just metres from your door you’ll find an array of independent shops, including some excellent antiques outlets, as well as cafes, restaurants and pubs. The Saints’ Way (which connects Padstow and Fowey) passes through Lostwithiel, while from the idyllic village of Lerryn (5 miles), there are glorious walks through Ethy Woods. Just 1 mile from town you can visit English Heritage’s Restormel Castle, or head to the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery (2 miles) for great shopping and food. For a day at the beach, Readymoney Cove and Polkerris Beach are both within 8 miles, while the chic coastal town of Fowey is just 7.5 miles away. Many major attractions are within 15 miles, including Charlestown Harbour, the Eden Project, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

This ground-floor apartment is part of the handsome Brunel Quays development on the banks of the River Fowey. From your private entrance, step into the stylish, open-plan living space, which is full of light thanks to its huge window. The sleek kitchen has been designed to offer an enjoyable, efficient space in which to conjure up delicious meals, and includes a large fridge/freezer as well as a microwave and a dishwasher. Sit down to relish your food at the large dining table, which has seating for four. After supper, sink into the soft seating and spend the evening in a state of blissful relaxation, with a good book or some music or a show on the Sky TV. When you’re ready for bed, head to the double bedroom with its comfortable mattress and ample storage. With a soft carpet and pale, neutral tones, this room has a peaceful feel to help promote a great night’s sleep. A handsome en-suite shower room completes the interior, perfect for a refreshing start to the day.

Although there is no dedicated outside space for the apartment, it has direct access to numerous walks and scenic areas, either along the river or directly from Lostwithiel. Guests will also benefit from private parking for one car.

What an incredible place! A gorgeous building, friendly neighbours and stunning decoration and interiors - the property is set next to a beautiful river (you can walk down into town) and train station but unbelievably quiet through day and night - Lostwithiel is a stunning little town and we loved exploring it in the mornings and evenings of our stRead moreay (including pop up brewery at the entrance to the Quays!). The property is sparkling clean and Smelt amazing when we arrived - equipped with everything you need and more - I hadnt considered baking a cake on holiday but you could! All the kitchen items are top quality and everything is so clean its basically new. All the decor is stunning and very comfortable. Clever wardrobe solution and gorgeous bed welcomed us after exploring Cornwall each day. The gorgeous welcome tray and baked goodies were such a treat to find when we arrived, hugely appreciated the thoughtful touch. So grateful to have been able to stay here fairly last minute, and at a great price - would stay again and will be recommending to friends and family. Also checking regularly in case anything comes up for sale as I would happily live there! Hide

This accommodation is excellent, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The property is ideally situated for the river and is a short walk over the ancient bridge into the town.

One of the best holiday cottages weve stayed in. Great location. The owners have taken great care to make it as comfy and practical as possible. Creative wardrobe solution in bedroom and plenty of kitchen cupboard storage
