With plenty of green space and privacy, this immaculately maintained lodge is tucked away on a peaceful site that’s home to just one other holiday property. It’s the perfect choice for a family getaway or couple’s retreat, and despite its secluded location it has easy access via the A55 to the most popular attractions of North Wales. In historic Holywell, 3 miles, you’ll find shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as a street market, golf course and the Holy Well itself, a place of pilgrimage for more than 1,300 years. Fancy a day at the seaside? The popular beaches of Talacre, Prestatyn and Rhyl are all within 12 miles. For castles, boutique shopping and more eateries, visit the market towns of Denbigh, 11.5 miles, and Ruthin, 17.5 miles. Hike to the summit of Moel Famau, 10.5 miles, or you could try mountain biking at Oneplanet Adventure, 23 miles.

Light and bright, and designed with careful co-ordinated, modern furnishings, the lodge is spacious, modern and stylish. Take the steps up to the veranda and enter, via patio doors, into the open-plan living space. With reclining seating and a Smart TV, this is an appealing spot in which to spend rainy days or lazy evenings completely unwinding. The sleek kitchen is fully equipped for cooking hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners, and includes a fridge/freezer and a microwave. The sociable dining table comfortably seats six. At the back of the lodge you’ll find the three bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite shower, and two compact twins that share a second bathroom. All the bedrooms have Smart TVs and high-quality linens.

From the living space, patio doors open onto the veranda, where there is a fabulous hot tub for six and an outdoor dining set, both positioned to make the most of the stunning scenery around the smallholding. This is the place to be for peace and quiet, and simply spending time with loved ones in the fresh air. If you’ve picked up some local delicacies on your travels, why not grill them on the large gas BBQ, which is set on the adjacent gravel-covered area (five steps down)? Little ones will love to go and see the alpacas in the nearby fields, too. Another great benefit of this excellent holiday escape is private parking for 4 cars.

We had a great week at the lodge, it was clean, well equipped, and in lovely surroundings. The children especially enjoyed seeing the alpacas and rheas in the field next to the lodge. Would definitely recommend.
