If you’re into scenic trek, conquer fells like Fairfield Horseshoe and Helvellyn, perhaps you’ll opt for family-friendly cycling trails and scenic strolls. Historical highlights like the Bridge House and Armitt Museum (500 metres) are great for a rainy day. Dove Cottage (4.5 miles), once home to the poet William Wordsworth, and Windermere Jetty (5.5 miles) are both within easy driving distance.
