This charming, brick-built cottage offers the perfect base to couples and small families planning to see the best of Lincolnshire’s rolling countryside and golden coastline. The host town of Spilsby is unspoiled and historic, providing an ideal start and end point for your days out together. Plan a traditional bucket-and-spade day and head to popular Skegness (13 miles), famous for its bustling pier, seaside attractions and places to eat, drink and shop. For a quieter day by the sea, Chapel ST Leonards (14 miles) sits further up the coast and charms with its wide-open sands and beachside cafes. The Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape (4.5 miles) beckons with its walking trails and natural scenery, while the National Trust’s Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens (6 miles) offer an insight into 18th-century Lincolnshire. For nearby towns bursting with Lincolnshire heritage; visit the likes of Louth, Alford, and Boston (all within 19 miles).

Wander through the enclosed garden and up to the front door, where this cheerful little hideaway welcomes you with a splash of colour and homely charm. Step into the social heart of the property – the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner – and be greeted by ample natural light and plenty of homely comforts. Settle in the lounge space after days of adventure, sinking into the soft sofa as the Smart TV streams your favourite series. On sunny days, throw open the glass garden doors to let the fresh Lincolnshire air flow through the home. When stomachs start to rumble, find everything you need in the well-appointed kitchen area to cook up a feast for your loved ones, who can gather at the petite dining table inside or out in the garden to enjoy the chef’s work. At the end of each busy day away, head upstairs and retire to a choice of two restful bedrooms: a light and airy single room and a spacious king-size bedroom with tranquil garden views. Serving the bedrooms and completing the interior is a well-equipped family bathroom with a shower over the bath, and WC. Please note you access the bathroom through the main bedroom.

Outside, the peaceful garden is laid to lawn and enclosed with fencing for the safety of little ones and pets. Here, fire up the BBQ and gather at the gravelled patio area to dine alfresco using the bistro-style furniture. Our second time at Tall Barn and we love it there. The bed is sooo comfortable I slept like a baby for a change. Very quiet rural location, ideal whether you want to just chill or get out investigating. If you're taking a doggie companion definitely get a hydrotherapy session with Sally, she was fantastic with our boy who had never gone in any wateRead morer before and loved it. While you're there check out the local Dennetts ice Hide

Do you want to be in a location that has lovely scenery and walking routes (short and long) directly from the door? Do you want to come home to a warm homely property where you can snuggle with your pooch or enjoy a glass of something cold in the garden? This is the place for you. We had a great stay at Tall Barn with the dogs, far enough away fRead morerom the town that there was minimal traffic but close enough for a short drive should we need anything. Hide
