The Seaside town of Sheringham, 6 miles away, is home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway, where you can take the steam train to Holt, 4 miles away. Here you can seek out The Hidden Yards following the Holt Owl Trail to discover the history behind the grand architecture. Explore the iconic pier, beach huts, sandy shoreline and clifftop walks of Cromer Beach, 8 miles away, or uncover hundreds of years of history at Baconsthorpe Castle, a mile away. Passing along Norfolk’s heritage coast, grab your walking boots and ramble along part of the Norfolk Coast Path to be rewarded with panoramic views. At one end of the lodge, the contemporary shower room provides everything you need to feel refreshed. The double bed (accessed via a ladder) and two single beds beneath (with a low ceiling) both offer a peaceful nook to retire to after sundown.

Spot glimpses of the resident wildlife and soak up the fresh, countryside air from the comfort of the pretty picnic bench outside the lodge. During the cooler months, light the fire pit to roast marshmallows as you stargaze across the clear, dark skies. The surrounding 4 acres of grounds can also be explored, with dogs on leads. There is private parking for two cars at the lodge.
