Set in a leafy residential area just to the north of Oulton Broad, this high-end holiday home is a haven for couples or solo travellers seeking an authentic taste of East Anglian life. Walkers and wildlife-watchers will enjoy exploring nearby Camps Heath Nature Reserve, which is part of the larger Oulton Marsh and offers access to the River Waveney and the Norfolk Broads. These inland waterways are a hive of activity – drive 1.5 miles to Nicholas Everitt Park and you can hire a day boat, take your seat on a sightseeing cruise or book sailing and paddleboarding lessons. If you prefer a slower pace of life, the park area has plenty of inns and eateries to punctuate a gentle stroll. Just 3.5 miles away, Lowestoft’s South Beach is pristine and popular all-year-round; search for sea glass on the shoreline or people-watch from one of the promenade bars and cafes.

Sitting within the owner’s grounds but perfectly private, this gorgeous getaway delivers on every level. A tree-lined lane leads to a sweeping driveway – prepare for the wow-factor as you get your first look at the large hall, built in the late 1870s, that’s adjacent, originally the home of George Borrow. The first room you’ll enter is a peaceful open-plan living space, with exposed brickwork and structural beams hinting at the heritage of the building. Unwind on a choice of comfortable seating, switch on the Smart TV and catch up on together time; all the creature comforts are here. At one end of this room, the kitchen is sleek and has all the must-haves for hassle-free self-catering; a spacious dining suite sits conveniently close-by. When your day is done, a modern wing on the other side of the property houses a boutique hotel-style master suite. Sweet dreams are assured in the gorgeous king-size bedroom, while the chic bathroom is stunning, with both a free-standing bath and a separate walk-in shower.

To fully embrace your off-the-beaten-track location, step through the doors from the lounge and into a private, enclosed patio garden complete with outdoor furniture. There’s parking for two cars, so you can explore the local area at your leisure.

We had a lovely stay and the facilities were very good. The owners have thought of everything needed for a great holiday, there were plenty of walks and nice eateries within a short walk from the property. They also provided starter items of food so we did not have to rush to the shops, a lovely touch. We would highly recommend the property.

This was a beautifully furnished and well equipped property. The owners were very friendly and had provided a beautiful welcome pack. The garden was completely secure for our puppy only problem was she couldn't go out on her own as she likes trying to eat pebbles and there were plenty for her to choose from, Great to be able to park right outside.
