Set in a leafy residential area just to the north of Oulton Broad, this high-end holiday home is a haven for couples or solo travellers seeking an authentic taste of East Anglian life. Walkers and wildlife-watchers will enjoy exploring nearby Camps Heath Nature Reserve, which is part of the larger Oulton Marsh and offers access to the River Waveney and the Norfolk Broads. These inland waterways are a hive of activity – drive 1.5 miles to Nicholas Everitt Park and you can hire a day boat, take your seat on a sightseeing cruise or book sailing and paddleboarding lessons. If you prefer a slower pace of life, the park area has plenty of inns and eateries to punctuate a gentle stroll. Just 3.5 miles away, Lowestoft’s South Beach is pristine and popular all-year-round; search for sea glass on the shoreline or people-watch from one of the promenade bars and cafes.

Sitting within the owner’s grounds but perfectly private, this gorgeous getaway delivers on every level. A tree-lined lane leads to a sweeping driveway – prepare for the wow-factor as you get your first look at the large hall, built in the late 1870s, that’s adjacent, originally the home of George Borrow. The first room you’ll enter is a peaceful open-plan living space, with exposed brickwork and structural beams hinting at the heritage of the building. Unwind on a choice of comfortable seating, switch on the Smart TV and catch up on together time; all the creature comforts are here. At one end of this room, the kitchen is sleek and has all the must-haves for hassle-free self-catering; a spacious dining suite sits conveniently close-by. When your day is done, a modern wing on the other side of the property houses a boutique hotel-style master suite. Sweet dreams are assured in the gorgeous king-size bedroom, while the chic bathroom is stunning, with both a free-standing bath and a separate walk-in shower.

To fully embrace your off-the-beaten-track location, step through the doors from the lounge and into a private, enclosed patio garden complete with outdoor furniture. There’s parking for two cars, so you can explore the local area at your leisure.

Its not to often that we use the word as exceptional however our stay hear was without doubt exceptional . The owners Phill & Charlotte where in the background and unobtrusive which was comforting to know as both of us have mobility issues. The location which settles into an area of woodland with upmarket residential properties was very peaceful Read moreand relaxed. There is plenty of places of historic nature and more modern features to occupy the most deserning pleasures. Country pubs and eateries are in abundance for most taistes , some like stepping back in times. Local folk are most welcoming and helpful. Furnishings are contemporary and high quality, everything we needed is provided. Parking is secure with direct access to the property. Our 2 standard poodles settled into the property and enjoyed there stay. We returned home to middle England with big smiles on our faces having spent 4 nights of relaxation in a new relaxing bolt hole. 7 nights would have been more than welcome however in our civic roles as Mayor & Mayoress of a midlands market town, duties call.
