This welcoming single-storey property is a splendid base for exploring the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District and Solway Coast, with a wealth of coastal and fellside walks to enjoy. Sleeping four guests, it is ideal for a small family or couples sharing. The cottage is set in Aspatria, a village with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, with mighty Skiddaw to the south and Solway Firth to the north. Allonby, set 6 miles away on the coast, is a designated national landscape – home to charming Georgian and Victorian architecture and a long, sandy beach favoured by kite and wind surfers, with views across to the mountains of southern Scotland. The magnificent Western Lakes are within 11 miles at Bassenthwaite. Here, enjoy tranquil lakeside footpaths with wonderful views, and peaceful water activities including swimming and paddleboarding. Visit the childhood home of the poet William Wordsworth in Cockermouth (9 miles).

The interior of your holiday home has a charming country-cottage theme, with soft, subtle colours. From the hallway, with a handy area for boots and coats, enter the spacious kitchen, where you’ll find everything needed to rustle up tasty meals after a day by the sea or hiking the fells. Settle down on the cosy sofas in the living/dining room, watch the Smart TV, or open the French doors to the garden and patio with countryside views in the distance. The dining space slots neatly in, featuring a sturdy wooden dining table with benches for seating. There are two delightful bedrooms, both with ample storage, comprising a Victorian-style king-size, and a sweet twin with white bed frames. A well-equipped family shower room serves the bedrooms and completes the interior.

Outside, pretty bistro-style furniture in the garden provides a lovely spot for peaceful drinks and al fresco meals as you enjoy the charming views. There is private parking for one car.
