Just 2.5 miles away, you can discover the largest shingle beach in Europe, RSPB Dungeness Nature Reserve. This unusual area has also been described as the UK’s only desert and is home to the beautiful Derek Jarman Garden, created by the filmmaker and artist himself before his death. Action Watersports and Lydd Karting are both with 1.5 miles. Enjoy a coastal steam train ride aboard the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway – the closest station is 5 miles away in Dungeness. This region also boasts wonderful vineyards, such as Gusbourne and Woodchurch (both within 17 miles). For a sandy beach, head to dune-backed Camber Sands (6 miles). The medieval citadel of Rye (10 miles), the old market town of Hythe is 12 miles, and architecturally-rich Tenterden are all within 19 miles.

Step inside and unwind at this enchanting newly refurbished Grade-II listed holiday home. This property is full of charm with many period features that bring the past into the 21st century. Lovely comfortable cottage. Well equipped and beautifully presented. Unrestricted street parking and we always managed to get parked nearby. There was a slight issue with the sink plug and that was sorted quickly and discreetly. We would definitely recommend this cottage and stay again.

Again, ROY is the reason we stay. He goes beyond professional. He is also kind. We did not feel intruded upon, we were not ever made to feel like we were a nuisance (and we were), he allowed our additional pets to say in the house and he is an all round gent of the first order. The gardener is lovely, even though the drought and the garden used by Read moreour pack of dogs affected the grass, and she was also unintrusive. We left and moved back in and forgot my DAD!!! in his urn. Not only did Roy store the things we left, but he never said a word AND when we moved back in, he had taken the things out that he had stored and put them back in the kitchen. The garden is cute. The grand children loved it. We sat in the garden at night with coffee and it made the horrifically hot weather lovely. Not only is the property adorable, but the beds are a great size with very nice mattresses - the towels are GORGEOUS (we made off with some accidentally, but I won't complain because they are gorgeous, but the property has all mod cons. The tvs are all interlinked on the internet, so they give you updates on when the dishwasher is finished, when your shower is ready and so on. It's super well equipped and the items are new and easy to use. The sash windows were an absolute god send because you can maximise air flow, there were loads of fans given the heat and if you want somewhere nice to go for coffee go to BREW AT 32. The staff and the goods are lovely. And cheap. The dog walk at Dungeness is great and just 10 minutes drive. There are shops to get your goods wherever you look, all the people are lovely and what's more our landlord was helping us look for longer term rentals. Who does that? Roy does! and I've never been so thankful for another human being as my family are for his courtesy, kindness and letting us stay in Cinque Cottage. Lydd is now one of my favourite places on the planet. Hide
