A truly unique Scottish holiday home, this period retreat in Lower Largo, on the East Neuk of Fife, sits right on the edge of the beautiful beach. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom hideaway is in an exceptional position to enjoy the best of both country and coastal life. Step straight out of the garden to find yourself on the sand, where you can picnic, paddle and potter in rock pools. You can also pick up the Fife Coastal Path here, attempting perhaps the relatively flat, 3-mile section to Leven. Venture 8 miles inland to spend an afternoon walking through the picturesque landscapes of the Lomond Hills Regional Park, with its moorland and lochs. Loch Leven, with its incredible array of wildlife, is 15.5 miles away − look out for otters, kingfishers and the occasional white-tailed sea eagle. Plan a day out to the historic St Andrew, 12 miles away, during your stay.
Return from your exciting excursions to let yourselves into this inviting, beachside property via the vestibule. Head on into the hall where there is space to leave your shoes and coats, as well as a convenient family shower room, before moving into the kitchen/diner. Find everything you need in here to help you prepare hearty feasts for your friends and family with the fresh Scottish salmon and vegetables you have sourced on your trips out. Make coffee in the machine, then pause at the breakfast bar or in the window seat to enjoy it. Amble on down the hall to discover the lovely lounge/diner, with its sumptuous velvet sofa and glorious sea views. Relax, chat and watch the Smart TV or listen to music in here. Light the wood burner during the colder months and bask in its welcoming glow. Gather around the glass table to dine in style. One of the bedrooms, a king-size with fabulous views out towards the water and a telescope to enable you to gaze out towards the horizon, is also here. Leading downstairs, you’ll find the remaining bedrooms, another inviting king-size, with a Smart TV, and two twins. A gorgeous family bathroom, with a freestanding bath and a separate shower, completes the internal layout.
Stepping outside, you will find a fully enclosed, private garden with views out over the beach. Bask in the sunshine here and listen to the lapping of the waves as you cook on the BBQ and dine in the salty sea air. Amble straight down to the beach, then rinse off under the hot/cold shower before opening a bottle of wine in the summer house. There is off-road, private parking for one car, with additional parking on the street, subject to availability.
